Gremlin Graphics / Interactive

Dunno if anyone can help but I wanted to find out a bit more about Gremlin Graphics/Interactive, but the company seems to have completely vanished.

Does anyone have any clue as to where I can find out more about them? I wanted to do a little page about Monty Mole and a few of their other characters like Zool, but I haven't the slightest idea who to contact and there's nothing much on the internet except downloads and screenshots.

i thought they did outrun 2 on the xbox?

Though you may not realise it at first, Sumo Digital is a heavyweight player in the games industry, well worthy of the name it has bestowed upon itself. ?Nobody seems to recognize that Sumo is only a new name for a team that's been together a very long time? jokes Carl Cavers, Director at Sumo Digital Ltd. In fact, many people were caught out when Sega announced back in April that the unfamiliar name of Sumo Digital would be responsible for bringing the arcade racer OutRun2 to the Xbox, so we delved further into Sumo?s past credentials.

?We are a very experienced team who have been together for a long time.? Mark Glossop, Project Manager for OutRun2, assures us. ?Most of us worked originally for Gremlin Graphics which turned in to Gremlin Interactive and then Infogrames Studios - Sheffield. Most of the core team have worked together for over 14 years. "

WOW. That's EXACTLY what I was after vanpeebles, great! Thanks! :D

So basically, Gremlin was gobbled up by Infogrames/Atari, but the core of Gremlin went on to found Sumo? Cool.

Gremlin used to have an office in Derby, but this split from Gremlin sometime in the late 1980s to form Core Design, which is now part of Eidos if memory serves.

Does anyone else remeber the crash competition to design a loading screen for some of their games. I think they were one about a security guard called Humphrey and a game about a beaver.

The games you are thinking of are Grumpy Gumphrey Supersleuth

and Beaver Bob in Dam Trouble

    - the latter was never released.
