Fine. You can be as unimpressed as you like, but that's no reason to imply that she's somehow cheated thousands of starving children out of aid.

Oh, and it's just an expression, stu... er, yes. It's just an expression.

Learn something new everyday ! Havent heard of that expression at all !

Yeah good point about her cheating thousands of starving children out of aid. I dont think we really think that

The fact is it seems most people arent that bothered or thrilled by some 'woman' going round the world in a boat. If it was a bit more popular to the masses eg two golds in the Olympics we probably would but its not.

It's not that she "cheated starving children" it's that she hasn't achieved anything worthwhile as far as I can see.

In a few years time, someone else will come along, throw even more money at building a boat, then go round a bit faster.

If she'd somehow advanced technology by doing it, then fair play, but she hasn't. People travel round the world considerably faster on a daily basis.

If anyone other than herself benefitted, then again, fair play. They don't though, it's all about self-publicity.

There are people all around the world doing spectacular work, be it charitable, medical research, scientific - these people are really making a difference, so why aren't we praising them instead of some bint in a boat. Why aren't companies like B&Q sponsering them if they have so much spare cash to throw around?

It's not like she even provided a few hours entertainment, which would've been something at least.

yeah - it would have been better if she'd drowned, or been attacked by pirates. Or a giant squid.

Because charitable/medical/research types don't walk around with a 40ft sail which says "B+Q" on it. In daylight.

If she wins any sort of sporting award then it is a complete disgrace. Since when has been sailing around the world in a sponsored boat considered a sport. She is probably odds on to win the BBC Sports Personality award despite the fact that she is not invlolved in a sport and has no semblance of a personality. At least when Michael Owen won he was a sportsman, involved in popular sport despite his complete lack of personality

Q: Dear Sir/Madam My congratulations to you on getting a yacht to leave the UK on 28th November 2004, sail 27,354 miles around the world and arrive back 72 days later. Could you please let me know when the kitchen I ordered 96 days ago will be arriving from your warehouse 13 miles away?
    Yours Sincerely

A: I THINK YOUR KITCHEN FELL OVERBOARD WHEN WE ROUNDED THE CAPE OF GOOD HOPE( OR SHOULD THAT BE NO HOPE?)

    What have we here then?

When people put these jokey listings on ebay how do they do it ?

Whenever i've put anything on ebay (Put my car on at one stage) i had to pay a huge listing fee.

I presume after a certain amount its just one price but its still surely costs a bit just to put up a jokey one like this ?
