c64 game with helicopter.
i briefly saw it at a house of a friend's friend when i was a kid.
the view was top down. the scrolling was probably multi-lateral.
it wasn't simply a shoot'em up, there were other task, i seem to recall.
i remember the helicopter flying over structures, maybe metal frameworks, maybe building.
anybody has any idea?

had a quick look on Lemon, although not sure this has a helicopter in it
i'll try it and i'll let you know.
this game is from 1987.
the game i'm looking for can't have been released after 1986. if not after 1985.
but thank you for your attempt.

"which guess?".
this may well be it.
strange, i searched all the games from 1982 to 1986 on lemon64 yesterday night and i didn't notice it.
i will try it.

i've played this raid at bulgeling bay, it seems to be it.
so, vanamonde is the winner.
by the way, i'm trying all these c64 games i'm curious about, and i find them rather boring: there's not even a hint of colour clash.
now i'm playing "the detective game" by arguss press software, 1986.
it stuck in my mind since when i saw a review of it in the italian edition of zzap! (in which they used to review some spectrum games too, sometimes).
I was at work, so didn't see this but have gone with bungling bay also :) . as it's a fav of mine. failing that there are a few more I could have said, but not top down. e.g. battle valley , Fort Apocalypse , chop lifter AND more given a bit of thinking time.
regarding clash, well the backgrounds are chars .. and the main things are sprites (normally).. but there are limits to sprites , per scanline .. so causes issues with say things like beat em up's etc.. e.g. golden axe... if you have an emulator.. load up an action replay cart in it.. freeze the game, press S and mess with the screen :) even clear it, and restart the game.. if you type "io" in the monitor it'll bring up the values of all the screen stuff as well :)
lemon has missed obscure games I like from speccy, that 64 owners don't overly know about ..
remember c64 isn't so hot with 3d stuff or iso's.. due to how the speccy deals with the drawing. but the c64 suits other games.. and even the atari 8 bit suits certain things better.. e.g. ballblazer / rescue on fractulus / elektraglide :)
krakatoa , speccy is a nice game lots of keys..but you get used to em
i find c64 colours too sad and bland.
i'll think i will try that alice in wonderland 2d arcade adventure.
I know it's now been found but my initial guess was Airwolf, but that's side-on so it couldn't be that. I then bunged "helicopter commodore 64" into Google Image and got this:
http://www.mobygames.com/game/c64/purple-heart/screenshots/gameShotId,296788/ and thought with all that brown-ness it had to be it. Then I read the caption and realised the helicopter was only a minor part of the game :-)
anyway, even the perspective is not right, in that game. not enough top down.
by the way, it seems to have a loading screen reminding of gryzor or something.
Helikopter Jagd by ocean ? by Joffa's pal Mr hat.. Stephen Wahid from ocean did the loading screen for both that n gryzor.
(aggh!! gryzor = colin porch = parasol stars that was never finished :( why didn't ocean keep copies of the dev disks!!! )
Tiger Mission - it has a message included for hackers in the code hehe ...like tiger heli (arcade)
protector , mastertronic
mr heli is a nice game as is Kamikaze
failing that it's gunship :)
