San Andreas going to try and do Zero's missions now, not looking forward to it, they're not really that hard they're just so annoying.

Need to try and get this game to the 100% soon I have other things to do, other games to play, Speccy games to work on, oh so little time :D

You could be right it's been 3 years since the last time, and they had me gritting my teeth a bit.

Not played much the last few days....Last week, I got back into Dead Island, and played through a chunk of it in co-op with some random dude! Very enjoyable when you team up with people who know what they're doing!

I also played a game I've had for ages, but never really bothered playing before...Arkanoid Live! It's basically just a version of Arkanoid for XBLA, but it is a really good version! It has a few different "episodes"...basically different sets of levels with different backgrounds...

Two very good scrolling shooters by Capcom, on MAME: The Punisher, based on the Marvel Character, and Knigts of the Round, featuring King Arthur.

Nah! Not as bad as I remember, all gone 2/3rds of the way through Woozies missions now.

I've got a lot of the awkward stuff in this game out the way I'm just gonna plough through it now, and tie up the loose ends nearer the end. I have 2 more GTA games I've never played to get through now. I obviously won't be going for the 100% on those right away, I'm playing them for fun, not loony obsession :D

It always takes me ages to do that mission, I always lose the last antenna just as the timer's about to end. The RC plane one where you have to fly around the city shooting those vans is a bit of a pain too. Unless I'm quick with the van-shooting, I often find myself running out of fuel.

Knigts of the Round, featuring King Arthur.

Aha, this, along with King of Dragons are two of my fave Snes games. :)

Tried the demo of FIFA 13. I haven't played 12, but 13 seems similar to 11 (which I haven't played for about a year). I really don't like that you cannot turn off the auto switching, you can't even turn the switching frequency down either! It's just permanently on which makes it really annoying to play.

So I went back to 09 and finished off the French Leagues. Just the German and Italian to do and that's all the cups done except for the champions vs champions that can only be done in manager mode. My manager mode is completely screwed so I've got no chance of getting them now.

I've also been playing Deadly Premonition this past week. For the amount of flaws that game has, it's still bloody brilliant.

Went back to Halo Reach to get the weekly done. Only got 2 or 3 dailys to do for that so I shouldn't have any problem with that unless friday to sunday is just pure multiplayer then I'll not get them at all.

Decided to try and get Gears of War 3's RAAM's Shadow 4 player achievement done. Annoying as I joined a 2 player game in chapter 1, someone else joined in chapter 3 and I had to leave in chapter 4. So I've only got chapter 3 done as 4 player. And chapters 1 and 2 are only done in 2 player apparently even though there were 3 of us!
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

On holiday I was mainly playing GTA: Chinatown Wars on my phone. Started it from where I'd left off before, I'm about 20 hours in now, still only 27% (or so) complete! I'm finding one mission in particular extremely difficult (the one where you have to set fire to 18 crates), so I've just been avoiding it and selling lots of drugs instead, which is still lots of fun. Working at the tattoo parlour is quite addictive too. :)

Also been playing Broken Sword 2: Director's Cut on my phone. Still a great game, and it's been so long since I played these that I can't remember how to do everything, so there's still something of a challenge there.

Now that I'm back I'm catching up with Sleeping Dogs. Almost done, got all the collectables, drug busts etc., just a few more story missions to go now. I've genuinely enjoyed every second of this game, can't wait to see what they do DLC-wise...

What's it play like on the i-phone/droid or whatever? I've been thinking about DL'ing it, as I think it may be the only GTA at present that I don't have? It's only about $4.99 or summit? But tbh it does seem like the type of game that seems more at home on it's native DS, what with the gamepad/touchscreen combo type thingy?

I'm finding it a bit fiddly, but still very playable. I'd go for the DS version if I had a choice of either, just for the extra controls. But yeah, I think I paid about ?5 for it on the app store, which makes it the most expensive game I've bought for the iPhone.

    I'm not playing through The Thing it's sh*te :D

Yeah, such a shame, that. The people who made that game really didn't understand the film, did they? Bah. It could have been sooo good. What a waste of a fantastic licence.

Is that the one where it was originally played with a trackball? If so, I had a mate at the time who was an absolute master at it. He'd wipe the floor against the computer and I never saw anyone score a goal against him, let alone win in multiplayer.

Mercs, by Capcom, on MAME. Great shooter, Commando style.

I thought the thing was great although I did play it on PC.

I have to agree (I played it on PC too), I thought the earlier comments a little peculiar as I only have fond memories of it. It was really quite creepy and the trust factor amongst your fellow NPC's was really well done I thought.

The PC version must be different then. On the PS2 version, the NPCs didn't work at all. The Thing infects people by touch, absorbing their cells and corrupting them. A blood test clarifies whether someone has been taken over or not. In the PS2 game, an NPC can pass a blood test then change into a creature immediately afterwards, just because it's a scripted part of the story. That's just wrong. The creature sounds in the game are also wrong, as are the ambient effects. The only part that looks right are the bosses. Many of the creatures don't move as they should, nor do they deform or grow appendages to navigate the environment. Nothing like the film. Massive let-down.

Please, please, please tell me the PC version is different. Me really want to play a proper game of The Thing. :)

San Andreas is driving me mad.

I think I'm going to take a short break from it, and play a different GTA I wanna play one of my new ones, haven't played either of them before. What better way to take a break from a GTA game, than playing another GTA game :D

I have suspicions I can probably do Liberty and Vice City Stories in the time I've been playing San Andreas so far, there's just so much to San Andreas when you actually try to get the 100% and I'm starting to get bored.

Now playing Major Havoc on MAME. Typical Atari vector game, first level is a space shooter, similar perspective to AD Astra, then you must dock on a mothership and enter a labirinth. Looks interesting.

I discovered Major Havoc a few years ago when I was going through all the MAME vector games on my modded Xbox 1. It is excellent and I could not believe I had not heard of it before!

Looks good... I'm assuming that you spotted it in RG? Might have to download a decent mame rom set if I can find one..
    So far, so meh :)

No, first of all I use www.klov.com, a huge arcade database. I can search by letter, company, year, etc. It's great to see how many good unknown games were made in the 70s, 80s, ...

If the game looks cool, then I look for a proper rom in the net (obviously if my MAME version supports that rom!)
