I think God Hates Us All is Slayer's best even though it's not 'classic' period. it's the heaviest/angriest

@mel I had a look at moby's wikipedia and I've never heard of that band he was in tbh

Steve Harris' (Iron Maiden) solo album British Lion annd it's not good! Musically, it reminds me of Alice in Chains, but the vocalist sucks! He sounds like he belongs in a college band and just lacks power (and I'm not comparing him to Bruce as the music is different)

I take it the vocalist isn't Steve Harris?
Maybe he should stick to Iron Maiden.

Listened to Husker Du at work last night, it'd been a while, it was nice to hear them again.

Been caught up in modern hardcore recently, too much like metal, and crossover for my liking these days :(

Since when did punk tunes have lyrics like "We got the killer weed yo! We got the blunts, if you got the blunts light em' up, smoke em' up, we ain't runnin' from the cops yo'"?

Seriously? These guys should've been rappers instead, although they're propbaly not hard enough so they sing this sh*t to the skinny jean wearing masses who also wish they were hard enough to be gangsta feel a little bit thug pfft gaylords the lot of em'

Get Harley Flanagan at one of these gigs with a knife and some 'roids, that'd be worth seeing, there'd be emo's bouncing off the ceiling and back again (Not that I advocate violence of course this comparison is purely subjective :D)

No. It's some unknown guy (as are the rest of the band). I wasn't expecting anything like Maiden and as I say, the music is ok, but the singer sucks. It makes the whole thing sound weak :(

Yeah, you're right. It does have an AIC feel. The vocalist is weak though, which is a shame really as the sound has potential to be good.
  • Talk of Maiden has made me dig out Dickinson's Balls to Picasso so listening to that now.

blaze bailey tho'.... I've still never managed to listen to X-Factor or Virtual XI all the way through, his voice is so bad. (but weirdly I don't mind his voice on wolfsbane's stuff)

I went to see Maiden....then Bruce left....and that clown appeared on stage.

It's not wise to upset a Wookiee and this one is still annoyed he missed out

The first time I saw Maiden was with Blaze on the X-Factour at Brixton. I had a great time (I always though blaze was ok) and was chuffed that My Dying Bride played the whole of The Angel and the Dark River in their support slot. I love that album, so to hear it all live was just awesome.

I did get to see Maiden with Bruce at Earls Court though and that was a great gig, even if the sound could have been turned up a notch or three ;-)

But nothing managed to beat seeing Bruce in a 1000 capacity venue on a small stage (LA2) as he really did climb all over everything (including doing one full song from ontop of the PA, squashed against the roof! Those were great gigs too :D

nice, got this on double CD, not dug it out in years though. iirc disc one is more dnb style, disc 2 more downtempo/trip hop-esque. 'Sun Rain' was my fav tune off there, one with female vocals..
