I would love it if they remanufactured the spectrum

I am quite happy to correspond with anyone who has a serious interest in remarketing the ZX Spectrum (Rubber Key) 48 and 16K!
In authentic fashion as is,as was.

I open it to you

Am am aware of the costs of remanufacture, the tooling etc but believe the hype alone would sell thousands

I would love to see a brand new Spectrum featuring the same stile and same keyboard as the original 48K/16K model, but I think today many components are cheaper and much smaller then they used to be, therefore why not throw in also 128K memory and support for AY music plus monitor and joystick port from the start ? That would make the purchase even more worthwile.
And oh, I sow some project for flash memory card support on the net, that would be defenetly a must, in order to keep all your files on memory sticks instead of taking a tape recorder or a floppy disk around with you.
This way the speccy would be a truly portable microcomputer. Otherweise I'll better keep the original one !! :)

I wonder what Alan Sugar would say if one of his budding trainees/mugs/victims on the TV program 'THE APPRENTICE' suggested he ressurected the Spectrum?

Would he fire them? Or would he take it seriously?

It's interesting that he used the Speccy as the base for the Emailer Plus, rather than the (already miniaturised as the GX4000) Amstrad CPC. He must have a reasonable amount of respect for it.
