    my situation:

got che coin, passed the bridge. i've still to explore the new area.

explored another area behind the mansion, with a couple of unreachable spots.

didn't find any rusty key, nor the broken shard.

Watch out for the reaper man, I haven't got passed him yet.
A Red Hot Chili Peppers song title will help you with the shard.
Same here, still looking for that pesky rusty key.
Found a barn with ladder to the loft. Next time I visit, no ladder, wheres that gone ?
  • edited September 2012
didn't see a ladder there, only a chain outside.

visited the secret room, but can't get out of there without dying.

    What secret room?

If it's the same barn as I saw, I don't remember a ladder being there. I couldn't get the chain or climb up it. In fact after climbing down the trellis I couldn't immediately find anything useful in that entire section so went back in the house.

I think I get Moriarty's clue about the shard. Will try some things.

Hint: I obtained the rusty key shortly after getting past the armour and climbing the stairs, but before climbing out of the window. I had to use another object to get it.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to open any of the locked doors I've found..

First time I found the barn there was a ladder, honest. I went up into the loft and theres an iron bound chest that I thought I may be able to lower down with the chain.

the passage to the secret room is in this same section.

now we have the peculiar phenomenon of the phantom ladder.

has anybody noticed the markings on the window of the bedroom?

Will the rusty key open the rusty door in the potting shed ?

just had another go since the last posts, and "explored" the area beyond the bridge. obviously immediately stopped by the scythe man.

searched and examined under the bridge, without success.

getting rather tired of the game.

    Whats under the bridge ?

Regarding the rusty key, did you notice a bat in the bedroom at the top of the stairs in the house? ;-)

Think I've solved the ladder mystery - you can't climb the chain but you can get Ann to. Then go west and you'll see she's put down some ladders for you. Can't open the iron bound chest though.

I think I've tried it on everything but remind me where the potting shed is..?
    a grubby vase.

Yep, just found that. I had it for about 5 seconds. Now it's a shard.. :-D

very well done, with the ladder.

did you find the secret room?

did you find the secret room?

No - if it's in any of the rooms at the top of the landing somewhere I've looked around but can't find it. :(

I thought the markings on the window "WSESE" were directions for the hedge maze, but I tried them and nothing happened.

After climbing down the trellis I found the rowboat at the jetty - is it possible to get to the island in it? I've tried every verb I can think of and it won't let me.

secret room ---> follow the ashes.

i wasn't able to use the rowboat.

the markings and the hedges maze: true, they must be an indication for the hedges maze: something changes, but not enough.
typing "help" at the start of the maze, or after roaming randomly, you get "there's an exit to the far, far east". once you follow the indication of the markings, help gives you " there's an exit to the north". so we've actually moved to the south, but there's nothing different in this location.

maybe we'll find other indications further in the game.

I found the secret room. But can't get out once I get in.

I noticed that you could put the net over the coffin, or put the stake in the coffin. Maybe there's just something you need to do later.

I need a lie down now..

Ladder, yes I did get Ann to climb the chain, didn't realise she got the ladder.
Going to look for the boat, don't remember seeing that ? does it appear after an action or something ?
  • edited September 2012
    it's not immediately viewable.

Ok, what do we need to mend the keel ?

How did you even discover it was broken?

(Moriarty is indeed always one step ahead of us..!)

four steps ahead of me. consequently, you're three steps ahead.

I haven't found the coin yet..
  • edited September 2012
    well, that's a funny exception.

i haven't found the rusty key, by the way.
  • edited September 2012
Still can't find the coin. Is it somewhere in the bit between the top landing and the trellis leading out of the window?

Hint: to get the rusty key you have to do something with the bat flapping about in the bedroom. Using one of your objects.

I've made a "breakthrough" and managed to get into the iron bound chest in the barn loft.

I'm now the proud owner of a circular, oriental rug.

Landing cold, hall warm, trellis hot.
  • edited September 2012
morkin, you must use your head, or at least act on somebody else's.

    no, not ann's.

by the way, got the rusty key.

what could we do with ann's metal comb?
