I've not, but then again, if my house floods where I am then the whole world's in trouble

Seriously though, York looks pretty bad again. Alot of the riverside pubs andd houses are under water and the York Dungeon has had to close as it's mainly underwater :-(

Despite it raining for 36 hours non-stop there were no problems with flooding around here, and yet a much shorter but much heavier spell of rain a few months ago had the place awash, as could have been seen from the pics in the "UK flooding" thread. I would have posted a link, but the thread doesn't show in Search any longer. (Maybe "Chit Chat" posts aren't kept for very long.)

I've got this mental image of you pushing her out the door with a snorkel and wearing flippers going "go on love, it's not that deep, honest" . You made her drive thru a river last time ? :)

Battle it'll be here. I remember the pic, quite rural / nice looking except for the excess of water ?

stay safe and keep anything valuable high up in future I guess. (it amazes me some folk kept their photos on the ground floor)

Yeah, the river is almost up to the top of the door of the Kings Arms. That pub really does get a kicking from the Ouse.

My town got on news with the floods and the stupid one way system that the council implemented made things somewhat worse.

(Maybe "Chit Chat" posts aren't kept for very long.)

They are kept as long as other posts, but they are treated differently by the search engine however.

The best way to find an old Chit Chat thread is by tagging them, then use Search|Tag search. Of course, that relies on the thread contributors tagging them in the first place, which is what I try to do with chit chat threads.

An example is the 20 month old Skyim thread, which can be found by a tag search on skyrim, surprisingly.
  • The tags attached to topics quite often make me laugh

Lets hope the forums aren't flooded.

Checking the tags has made me realise I was asking for that

I can't help thinking, if only someone had had the foresight to add some detergent somewhere upstream... :-P :-P :-P

Been quite a few road closures round here, some due to floods and others due to downed trees...lots of rivers been bursting their banks!

Seems to be settling back down again, although that's the rain back on now....
