will u
or wont u
be getting a wii u?
only saw the advert the other day, didn't realise it would be a chrimbo release.
im really torn on it.
if i hadnt been so disapointed with the wii, id have snapped it up. i could probably see it as a replacement for my wii, as they reckon everything will be transferable, saves etc. (GC titles would not be compatable though)
but not sure if it would be a replacement for my 360. ok so i have both, not bothered about dvds and downloading movies, as the 360 does that.
if there was a clear answer as to upscaling older wii games, that would seal the deal, but it looks like there will be no change to them on the new console
dont really see anything in the launch titles that catch my eye either.

Still trying to find the energy to play some games on the first Wii, I haven't really followed the hype for the Wii-U at all, not really that interested.
No doubt it'll be released to much fanfares, and bells and whistles, and whopee-doos. Then Sony and Microsoft will blow it out the water with something better less than 6 months after it's release. Either that or the PS3 and the 360 will still be better than it, and they won't need to try to compete
Don't ever let me see your Vectrex, or I'll bludgeon you over the head with a C64 and run off with it (especially if you happen to have a copy of Clean Sweep) :D
You'll run off with his head or his Vectrex? :-o
The Vectrex.
I'm not interested in his head, unless it makes burp, and fart noises when you pull the eye out :D
Wii U will just be another add-on to the set for me.
By that time all you can buy is 3rd party tat, and wrestling games, usually by that time the good games are only available on ebay for about $8000
That annoys me slightly
Oh Christ yea, isn't that always the case?! Bah. Nowadays I buy the games I want when they reach 'my' price, regardless of whether I own the console or not. Just to be sure. :)
There's nothing in the launch line up that I'm interested in. Zombie-U maybe, but I'm not buying a console for one potentially good game. I'm very pleased though that Epic have ported Unreal Engine as that suggests there will be a lot more 3rd party software than there has been on the last 3 Nintendo consoles.
Thing is I know I'll get one as soon as Zelda's released :-)
That's an awfull trade, should've at least got a PS3 thrown in as well :)
I'm in two minds about the Wii U. Sure there's a lot of tat for the Wii but there are some very good games as well.
The thing is, it doesn't look like a lot of titles on launch day, and I've not really seen what it can do yet which is all a bit late for a christmas launch imho.
But I have already gone on about why...

I'll wait and see what it's like when I can get a shot of one before I decide on whether to buy one or not...I've still got loads of games on Wii I haven't played though, so even if it does turn out alright I'll probably wait a year or two......
I'd get one ;-) Loads of retro style goodies available in the LiveArcade and even more so in the Indie game section :-)
I'm unsure about the WiiU. I'd like one as I like the look of the controller, but at ?350 for a usable console (the cheaper options seem to have bits missing or a poor memory) it's a but expensive this close to Christmas. Plus, I hardly use my Wii anyway. Having said that, as the WiiU uses HDMI, I'd get a better picture and may use it more. But again, there arn't really any launch games that have taken my fancy either. Only ZombiU stands out and even that looks rather generic.
When Nintendo get around to releasing Zelda or a decent Mario then I'll be interested, but at the moment, I think I'll pass on this one for now.
