I am not 100% but back in the day i am sure i used to have my own league table and fixtures on Match Day so i presume you can have both teams as CPU,might be better than watching the real thing with less diving and rolling on the floor like a ninny lol
There is, of course, The Hobbit Environment (Wilderland) introduced on this thread where you can see what all the NPCs etc get up to while Bilbo sits on his bum. Worth a watch if you've not already.
What if someone modified 2-player games to work with the Spectranet? Online multiplayer, local network 2-player and maybe cpu vs cpu could become a reality.
While I'm working away at my desk at night, saving the universe and whatnot, I like to stick retrogames on in demo mode, computer versus computer, in the background. I'm kinda tired of Star Control and Populous, can anyone recommend any good Speccy games that have a decent demo mode? I'm after games that can battle themselves for a good half hour at least. Throne of Fire is the only one I can think of but it slaughters itself fairly quickly.
In my I Need Speed you can configure all players to be CPU controlled, but you'll need to press the keys to continue after each race has been completed... I guess I could hack some patch to avoid those pressings.
Not exactly computer vs. computer (well, it is, sort of...), but the attract mode of Skooldaze is fun to watch, until you HAVE to play it, as it's such a great game.
I suppose in a way it's strange that multiplayer first person shooters don't have attract modes of the game playing. A (very) few do, but they (Turok 3, and Turok: Rage Wars, both on the N64, and Unreal Tournament on the PS2, are the only ones that spring to mind) tend to be pre-recorded gameplay only, and not dynamically playing real time computer controlled bots, even though the game would easily allow for this, since each of the above three has built in bots (computer controlled players).
off hand Great Escape had that "no morale left" mode where you just become a drone following the prison routine like the other inmates.....not really the same I know but might work if you just want something in the background.

Move for move? That's pretty advanced for back then?
I do something similar sometimes before going to sleep, I watch RZXes of Speccy games
Sometimes I think I live life a little too much on the edge
I don't know but it's pretty cool. Well it would be if I wasn't so rubbish at it!

Start the game, sit back, and watch it complete itself :p
