Game of 96 and Hop n Chop

edited January 2013 in Games
So, I played one of the suggestions for GOTY 95, Hop n Chop. Enjoyable and good use of colour (I left the scene when monochrome seemed to be the only option - or garish Jack and the Beanstalk colour clash!)

Well done to the guys overseas for keeping the market alive!

What was the game of '96, then guys?

Hopnchop looked great, as many have pointed out, very similar graphics to the Spectrum conversion of Rainbow Islands. Not as good though, RI I consider one of the best games on the Spectrum.

1996's game must be prince of persia, i suppose:

1996 is probably the summit of Spectrum popularity in Russia.

Quite a lot of impressive games from that period made in Russia that many people here unfortunately never heard about (and yes, it's language barrier again):

    - Prince of Persia
    - UFO 2
    - Doom demo
    - Winny the Pooh
    - Walker
    - Smagly 2

Dizzy Warehouse is an alright Sokoban clone.

....and there's 2 versions of Dr. Mario that are quite good.
