    Editing is powerful.

A good example of which is Bowling for Columbine. It's edited and to show Charlton Heston apparently at a gun show a few weeks after Columbine holding his gun up and saying 'from my cold dead hands'..making him look like a dick...when the bit was actually filmed at another gun show/event a year earlier prior to the shooting.

Obviously editing is involved. it would be impossible for it not to be, I realise that.

Finally got around to watching chasing ghosts. Billy Mitchell comes across like a penis in that too. Bloke must be very unlucky with all these dodgy documentary directors making him look like that all the time.

My favourite quote from the docu - "They couldn't get laid in a whorehouse with a fistfull of 20 dollar bills."

That quote was, in fact, from a guy who calls himself Mr.Awesome. Wearing what looked like an American police uniform with a big letter 'A' on the front of his peaked cap. :D

Didn't Mr Awesome have a cameo in King of Kong? I'll have to remember to watch Chasing Ghosts later :-)

It's definitely worth a look, although I thought King of Kong was the more captivating story. Despite the perceived (by me, at least) character flaws of some of those guys, they are on a whole different level of understanding those games. The footage of Billy Mitchell demonstrating what's needed to get a perfect Pac Man score was pretty jaw-dropping.

Yeah, I think I mentioned that earlier. I've been trying to find some footage of it but was unsuccessful in my brief attempt :-) It's almost a click-of-the-fingers length of time that the ghosts go from panicked mode back to normal. To do that every time for 256 screens or whatever it is is absolutely amazing.

EDIT: Actually this gives you an idea of how long those ghosts stay panicked, but this guy isn't getting them all like BM did.

Yep. I'd have happily believed that was completely impossible if it hadn't been done.

It does rather say as much about Mr Awesome's priorities and attitudes to the opposite sex as it does the subjects of his remark. On the other hand, I'm not sure what he'd get for his $20 but maybe he's easily pleased.

I quite liked Michael Moore right up until I saw Bowling for Columbine. The way he dealt with Charlton Heston was disgusting.

Moore basically lied his way into an old man's house under false pretences, then began to bully the dazed and confused man.

What we could take from a one sided argument where one side had weeks to prepare and the other side was ambushed with no idea a debate was taking place I do not know.

I always admired Heston - certainly not his gun happy views - and to see him get treated like that was painful to watch and I have never watched anything Moore has done since. Cheap scumbag if you ask me.

The thing that tipped me off about Michael Moore was watching an episode of TV Nation where he totally misrepresented the issue of the licence fee in the UK. I've viewed everything he's made with extreme suspicion since, even when I do agree with the sentiment behind it.
