AMS X 4 memory chip for a +2B

Hey Chaps,

While I had my Spectrum +2B opened up to work on the tape deck (replace belt and clean heads), I decided to try reseating some of the chips in sockets, and I accidentally broke a leg of the chip that's at position IC4 which I believe is an Amstrad manufactured 64x4 bit RAM chip. The truth is first I bent the leg a bit, put it back, and then the computer was showing a black screen + grey border when I switched it on (with some occasional red garbage on the black). Assuming that I hadn't replaced it properly, I took it out again, and in trying to straighten the leg it came right off.

Does anybody have one of these chips they can sell me, maybe from a broken +2B? I can't justify paying a lot for it as it's not my only Spectrum and the machine has other problems (not loading tapes) so it's decision time whether it gets repaired, or goes off and becomes a spares/repair machine.

Thanks.

I have some of these 4464 chips and used them to expand my Atari 600XL to 64 KB. They are not rare. The problem is the postage costs from Austria. The smallest package to britain will cost me € 11.80.
But if you want also other stuff too... I have 41256, 44256, 74xx chips (these are desoldered, but tested and working), Some ZTX Transistors, etc.

Don't want to be in LCD's way, but sending the chips from here costs only some stamps. Think I got some.

Check out the sales link underneath.
