2 player turn based games?

edited March 2013 in Games
My wife and I have just been playing Sport of Kings, which was good simple fun, except for her amassing a small fortune while I went broke...

What other 2 player turn based management games could you recommend? Or even strategy games, provided they were fairly easy to play.

If you want easy to play, I'd suggest Chaos and Viking Raiders.

If you're prepared to invest a little more time and effort, maybe Laser Squad or Arnhem.

Rebelstar Raiders might fit the bill.

How have I missed this?! Scorched Earth is one of my all time favourite games, and this looks like a Spectrum version that pre-dates it!

    Thanks for this!

If you like a bit of action with your strategy Archon is aces

Formula One (CRL) is great if you like the sport.

Virgin's FA Cup Football is good for a laugh if you both like footie.

Your ideal answer would be for someone to write a mod of that old war game by imagine - (name escapes me now) - it'd be good as a two player game :-)
