What's the nearest equivalent to the WoS forum for wannabe C programmers? Ideally with a similar mix of clueless newbies like me and wise old birds to provide not-too-patronising insight.
I know there are some ace C programmers on WoSF, so why not start a thread in the Chit-Chat section for any C related queries and see if anyone answers? No harm done either ways. Or you could cleverly disguise them as z88dk queries in the hope of tricking AA to answer them. ;)

I like to glean snippets of wisdom by lurking in other peoples' threads rather than parading my own ignorance for others to see, but if I have a specific question I will certainly post it here rather than shoot the rapids that is stackoverflow
Stackoverflow and its sister sites are better than most programming forums because of the slashdot style meta-moderation. Arrogant so-and-sos who belittle the person asking the question but don't actually supply any meaningful assistance get modded down into oblivion, usually leaving just the helpful replies visible.

yeah I lave a love hate with these types of Forums. I use SO often, but I know precisely what you are referring too.
I peculiarly hate it when they tell you that your doing it wrong, but then do not offer a concrete alternative being deliberately vague.
Or the reply that has one link followed by a wink, to some unrelated question which gets loads of votes.
