Nice one, but I'm not seeing Ni Ten Ichi Ryu by Photek on the list (Yes I know Samurai are Japanese, and Kung fu is Chinese, but it didn't stop them remaking The Karate Kid even though it was set in China and contained no actual Karate....so there :D).

Will have a listen when I've put the kids to bed (rock 'n' roll, that's me)

Ah that's a classic. The other one I thought of straight away is "You Must Think First" by Dopestyle (DJ Hype) - I don't know diddly squat about martial arts movies but I read somewhere that some of the samples are from Five Deadly Venoms.

I've got photek's modus operandi and form + function albums, but none of his stuff would fit with the style on this mix tbh. this is all noisy jump-up and pretty basic in comparison!..

Got it streaming now. Nice work as usual, Chris.

hmm, done a bit of a faux pas not including this it seems... my mate's got stacks of mid 90s jungle/dnb, might ask if he can rustle up an oldskool kung fu mix with that one on.

What was the tune that had all the samples from Shogun Assassin/lone Wolf n' Cub/Babycart?

    late 90's I'm also thinking?

Nah that's defo not the one I was on about, with the exception of a few breaks that sounds more like some kind of sedated gabba rather than D n' B.

But the talky bit at the start is on the right track of what I was getting at.

Photek might have been a bit too sophisticated, but The Crane by Source Direct is still totally badasss. :)

Haven't looked in for a while.....something made my WoS senses tingle. Guess it was this :)

Nice one Chris. My little boy was jumping around shaking a toy maracca a few minutes ago. He seems to like Swordfight :)

have they put out anything out of late ? not clued up any more, haven't got anything new for years... 25 years old.. so that discounts a lot of tunes ;)

did a few the bristol lots pro tools rigs, 13 years ago now.. was tempted to put the "R" logo on the desktop for a joke ;) . Some wannabe hip hop dude was annoying me when I was trying to go home from work, he turned up late to pick up a machine.. so gave his i-mac a nice girly pink desktop and locked it :)

lol...probably a good idea to hide any nun-chucks you got hanging around just in case

    - there's a couple of naughty words in the mix. hope that wasn't a problem, they're quite well concealed (ish). cheers for having a listen!

last proper releae was 2006 according to rolldabeats. Krust's last album. I've got it, it's pretty good. the 90s full cycle stuff is the best though.

    How the mighty have fallen...

Roni Size used to be my favourite jungle producer, back when jungle was still jungle. Music Box, It's A Jazz Thing, the later stuff on Full Cycle (Breakbeat Era etc)... sigh...

I like my breakbeats chopped up, none of that bmmm-BAP bmm-BAP stuff
