Looking for an old martial arts film...
Hi all.
I've been getting into old martial arts films I watched as a kid. There's one I used to love back in the day but can't seem to find anywhere. I was 99% sure it was called "Dragon's Teeth", but I can't find any trace of that on the internet. Some details: At the start, the hero is sent through something called "Death Alley" (or something similar), where he has to fight sets of different enemies, kinda Game Of Death styley. The hero dies at the end of the film, getting stabbed in the jewels with a sword, but as he does so he also takes the bad guy out at the same time. There's a bit where they fight on wooden stumps over a spiked floor (a bit like the pit in Mortal Kombat) and someone falls onto it. The hero has a long ponytail, and wears white throughout almost the entire film. The VHS we had of it was one of those "Watch & Wipe" videos (can't find any trace of those on the 'net either) that were about for a while. That's pretty much all I can remember.
Any ideas? I may have some details a bit mixed up, but if anyone's seen it they should know what I'm banging on about...

That describes just about every film Jet Li was in before he hit Hollywood :p
Talking of which the wooden stakes bit sounds like The Legend of Fong Sai Yuk II, but I don't think it was spikes, and nobody died when they fell. But my mind is a bit cloudy on that one because I haven't seen that movie since I was probably still a teenager. I had the first Fong Sai Yuk film back in England.
I've seen that many crazy old martial arts flicks though I'd probably never remember
Although that Men from the Monastery that mile posted up sounds similar to Fong Sai Yuk, a the main character in that is called Fong Si Yu. There's lots of different old Martial Arts flicks based on the same stories, so that might be where I'm getting my wires crossed?
I feel like watching some kung fu flicks now :D
No, this one isn't utter crap. :p
What the heck?! That must be it! I must've searched IMDB a gazillion times without coming across that! It was the iPhone app though, so maybe that's where I was going wrong. And a general Google search for "Dragon's Teeth" didn't come up with anything at all!
Thanks dude.
EDIT: Yep, it's definitely the one. Just the title sequence alone is bringing back memories! That's the next hour and half sorted then!

yeah dragons teeth didnt apear on imdb the first time i searched, it appeared as 'men from the monastry' but seems to like dragons teeth better as the title.
i found it on this list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Shaw_Brothers_films after a google search. ;)
my new favorite bit of imdb is the parental control section. it can be very funny, especially when you look at films like trainspotting. 'hmmm i better check the imdb before i let my kids watch a film about smackheads' :D
if its an 18 cert film, it prolly not gonna be suitable for kids.
also i love the crap actors
go down the list of actors of major film, the first twelve will have pics then you get the smaller roles which wont have pics, then right at the bottom you have loads of uncredited parts (extras) with a professionally taken pic.
you know they are the ones that are updating thier own page. :D

speaking of which I picked up project a / police story and armour of god recently.. jackie chan before he went all US and "careful now"
dnb stuff liked kung fu movies, the more obscure the better :D
I often find myself reading those too, just for a laugh. Human Centipede 2 just sounds completely ridiculous!
It's cool, cheers fog. Mile located the film. It's not half as good as I remember it being!
just reading it. all the horrendous blood n gore stuff, then "Dr. Sebring is seen smoking a cigarette. " lol
Ip Man.
Can't believe I've never watched this before, considering it basically tells the wartime story of Ip Man (Basically the old Chinese guy who trained Bruce Lee). It's a bit gloryfied in places but it's a pretty good film.
Not too many wires being used, and people jumping up trees backwards basically
There's an Ip Man 2, but I don't have time to watch it today I think?
:D
Here's a good one I found recently: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0481280/parentalguide?ref_=tt_stry_pg
Note the bit at the end that says "This film is very realistic and really disturbing". I thought "cool, I'll check that out"...

If you want (unintentionally) awesome "Bruceploitation", check out Fist Of Fear, Touch Of Death. So bad it's amazing! :D
wow, almost forgot how crummy films in 2006 looked. :D
Aye, camcorders have come a long way. :D
