Retro fair in Maarssen February 2013

Some pics of my stuff in Maarssen yesterday.
Frans suggested I should mail Retro Gamer to publish something about the laserharp.

    Look great Ben,

But I fear you may need to open a window - Theres a lot of heavy smokers at that meet! ;)

Was it a general retro party or Sinclair specialised?

Any good Spectrum stuff showing? :)

You can see the Amiga's and Commodore's flying around ;)
There were at least 5 Sinclair friends: Dennis, Martin, Frans, me and someone that had a table next to Dennis but I forgot the name from.

Next time we will contact more Sinclair-fans in Holland to gather in Maarssen.

    Another video made by Dennis:

Dennis brought a ZX81 with ZXpand and some other cool accesoires.

The guy which I forgot the name from had a ZX81-case with a microcontroller board which emulates ZX80 and ZX81.
He has not yet posted that project here on WoS, so I told him he should!! ;)

There were more doors in the room, so the smoke went away in a minute, and it is not unhealthy smoke.

Great stuff Ben! The other Sinclair nut is Gert (KGE). On this picture you see him (pic made yesterday.. hi Ben!) and a few of his projects. He implemented ZX80/ZX81 emulation on an mbed chip and build it into an ZX81 case. It has VGA out (b/w), joystick port, PS/2 keyboard support, an internal file browser, UDG support and many more awesome features. The original keyboard even works! I'll try to convince him to make a nice report of his project :)

Thanks to Ben for the great show! It was also very cool Frans could make it!

Too bad HCC Sinclair is gone! It's great to see some more Sinclair people at HCC Commodore!

    See you guys next time!

    Dennis

    Hi Dennis, Ben,

Always a pleasure seeing you guys so I hope we can all make it in April and maybe get a few more Sinclair fans there...

I would like to pay a visit but the german ZXTeam meeting (ZX81) in Mahlerts takes place that weekend. Which I can't miss...

Can't find a thread about the fair so I'm just posting here.

Thinking about going tomorrow but I'm not feeling well right now. Horrible allergy season, and I am thinking to skip it and go to a next one.

I couldn't go myself either, and the same with Frans.
The theme was 'bring your C64' anyway, so next time we take over ;)

I am actually planning to go there too. With a bit of luck I will bring my latest WIP (work-in-progress). It's a really simple game, and nowhere near finished state at the moment, but after this horrible allergy season I want to program something simple. But I hope I can add more stuff if I have the time this week.

(I don't have any hardware or a stand there so I'd need someone else to load it for me though.)

Well, due to some circumstances it didn't worked out (I'll tell you in a PM what really happened. Very sorry about that.)

So, to make it up, here's the TAP file that I wanted to take with me.

Load it, and press fire to start. As usual it should support sinclair1/2, kempston, or QAOPM.

No real instructions other than you can move with left, rigth and fire.

Also no warranties etc. It is a demo and is not even near a finished state, and it still needs lots of tweaking (horizontal movement rate will probably be doubled, for example.)
