New ZX 1k hires game : Q*Bert

    Thanks! I had to download an emulator hadn't ever tried ZX81 before.

    Am I doing something wrong or am I not supposed to see a character? I only see the square platforms.

    Hello Sadako,

    You need to set the emulation to WRX hiresmode.

    This is needed on the emulator, not on the real machine.

    The game works on multiple emulators, but I use EigthyOne.
    Take a look at my videos (youtube zx81hires) to see the settings in other hiresgames I made.

    Got it going and it looks great and is fun.

    Yup, EightyOne just so happened to be the emulator I downloaded.

    It took me 1,5 hour, but I managed to alter the displayroutine for the graphics. This is needed to built in the next levels. Right now the playfields only had 1 bit to set the 'colour' of the field. I need 2 bits to set more possible 'colours'. To make this work in the code I had to add 49 tStates in a displayline (which must be won to keep the display insync). To win the timing was a bit tougher than thought, but I managed.

    Now I will alter the display of the colour fields to fit 2 bits, but that is easier.
    After that I must make multiple levels and a better snake movement.
