Am in the mood to start afresh on a new text adventure this weekend.

    Anyone want to join in?

    Any recommendations?

How about One of Our Wombats is Missing?

I had a go at this earlier this year and failed miserably. I'm sure with a bit of encouragement I could fail even more miserably!

It's like a haggis, but bigger.

That's valuable information that could be useful in the game!

I see what you mean! Perhaps the game has a quick solution - simply wait for a while and listen out for the wombat's cries of discomfort.

I've also learned that 22nd October is Wombat day.

I've added this event to the WoS calendar.

I was all ready to go but our guide, Morkin, never showed up. Perhaps he was eaten by a lion.

I forgot to play it at the weekend.

    I'll have a go later.

Well I didn't get too far on my first go:

Is it possible to get back in when you've been kicked out of the zoo? If so, I couldn't figure out how. I had to restart the game.

Well, you've done better than me. I wandered around a bit, then spent ten minutes trying to take sunglasses off a bear.

Part one has lasted 7 years now :-o

Are we anywhere near the end, or should I just try sitting down and singing about gold?

Oh no... This is all Rebelstar's fault. We could have picked a better one than this.

Yes please, we'd like a song about gold right about now.

I only joined in halfway through this thread, and it still feels like at least 10 years. I still wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, thinking about the solution to One Dark Night.

In a small way, WIWC has succeeded in inflicting a depressing curse upon the WoS forum, an epic monolith of worthlessness, self-loathing, misery, scorn and hateful desperation.

    Long may it continue.

...Right - what were we playing again? :D

and i'm not even asking you to thank me.
  • I may have to give this another go seeing as I'm being blamed for it. Honestly, all I did was suggest it and suddenly I'm partially responsible for the fun you're all having!

Ah..! I finally stumbled upon the obligatory telephone sound effect.

Perhaps it was just a coincidence that practically every single Quill-produced text adventure since the Patch was released seemed to have a telephone in it somewhere?

I had a stump around in the zoo, found it depressing, with bleak empty cages like most zoos. Didn't get anywhere.
Read a review from YS and Crash, and saw it was practically a YS in-house job and that there were quite a few hidden massages. Try typing John, for instance.

On a similar subject, I'm planning a trip to our local aquarium this weekend. Apparently they've got an octopus there.

there's an octopus in abbey road.

Yes but you need a yellow submarine to get to it.
