QL Super Basic
Does anyone know if the Basic on the QL was any good and if so would it be good to write platform games and such ?
I am really interested in all types of BASIC on any machine but this one as really got me interested.
thanks

Big K (one), C&VG (two), Home Computing Weekly (one), Personal Computer News (two), Popular Computing Weekly (74), Sinclair User (12), Your Computer (9), ZX Computing (23).
Here's a few from ZX Computing which have already been typed in:
Javelin, Nowotnik Puzzle, One Day Cricket, QL Racer, Santa's Dilemma.
The QL User supplements in Your Spectrum had some interesting articles as well, including Andrew Pennell's review of the language "Holy Structures ... it's SuperBasic".
A lot of commercial QL programs were written in SuperBASIC and then compiled with either Turbo or QLiberator which makes it a very quick language for development.
If you need extra speed, you can then (as I have done) re-write some of your core functions and procedures in machine code and link them in as extra SuperBASIC keywords.
There are plenty of example programs for download from the Sinclair QL Homepage - http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/ and also an active QL forum (www.qlforum.co.uk) and user group (www.quanta.org.uk)
Hope this is of some help
