Glad to see this getting some attention. It's one of the very few games I managed to complete back in the day, and I still play it nowadays.

Once you get "Star Wars" out of your mind (and yes, the title was very sneaky, but fair play to them), you can enjoy it on its own merits.

Yeah, there's not a bad little game lurking in there, but you've got to pick through a lot of dross to get to it. Not least there's the typical early Mastertronic marketing; great piece of cover art, that's nothing to do with the game, and an almost total lack of relevant instructions. And the part of the game where you fly through space to get to the mines is awful and would better have been left out entirely.

Still, picking your way through the maze and trying to work out the droid patterns without getting nobbled by one is quite good fun. Sadly, once you've worked out what you're doing in those parts, it's all too short. Ah well, what could you expect for ?1.99 in those days anyway?

At a first sight I thought this thread was about the second official Star Wars game  ... I've never very interested in those SW games, by the way!

Never heard of this game before... I should have a try later.

I bought this back in the day. Friday afternoon's after dinner we'd have to walk into town for a PE session at the YMCA in Northampton town centre. Then afterwards me and my gaming mates used to pile round to the computer shop and I picked this up then. With my ?10 a week (for 8 hours work) Co-Op money! :)

Good loading screen for a cheapie too!

Yep, it did indeed have a great loading screen!
Not up to your standards though Mark!

Thanks for the comments folks, nice to see this game getting a little bit of attention. It was better than what you usually got for ?1.99 in those days.

I always enjoyed this game too. It's one of the few games I could finish every time, although I'm nowhere near as good at it these days. For ?1.99 I think it was excelent value for money, what with all the hours I sank into it back in the day :)

I'll have to give this another go. I never liked the game when it came out. Played a bit of it in the 90s and turned my nose up once more. I'm guessing I haven't given it the time it needs.

It's not on my, "To play" list.
