No, but here's the thing. ?1.49 is too much when there are much better free games or ones at 69p. I find it all incredibly cynical, really. Look at it in the Apple App Store - the nice cover art, screenshots of the opening text in the Spectrum font and the bottom half an advert to buy Manic Miner prints, a screen shot of the game, a 2nd screen shot showing the screen shown in the 1st screen shot only if Willy jumping up and a final shot showing the artwork. F**k off! If that's not incredibly lazy and taking the piss, then I don't know what is.
Now, I'm all for supporting indie devs, but they have to put the effort in especially when they want to charge a pound fifty for it.
^ This.
If ?1.50 a pop is genuinely the going rate for a cruddy edited copy of JSW (that wouldn't have generated more than a couple of dozen "Interesting... thanks for sharing that" posts here if someone had unearthed it on an old C90 and uploaded it to WoS) then this time next year, we could all be miwionaires. I could churn out one of them a week at least, no sweat.
Indeed, so why didn't he write something more original?
He did. This just predates all of that. If there was the same fascination around Terry that there is around Matt then people would be raving about it. I can well imagine that this was his portfolio piece that he used to get a job in the games industry.
On-topic, yeah. I'm rather underwhelmed, too. All that build-up to a product where Matthew Smith was, in fact, not involved. Should have called it "It ain't Matthew Smith but how else should we bait you.com"
Elite systems, the same ******s that made the crap that was Airwolf and Fall guy to but name a few fatal failures.
In what way was Airwolf in the least bit playable to the average teen at the time?
And now ripping us off yet again, by offering ability to play spectrum games on iOS devices. Things they never created and with controllers that are just as difficult to use and as unintuitive as the Airwolf failure?
Yeah sure, I bought a few of their speccy apps just to see.
But for them to now come along and unleash this "Mathew Smith" tripe.
Steve Wilcox, wake up man! Try to be creative and create something of quality and not just drown us with your half-assed, spam, in-app advertising bull***t!

Is there a way we can personalise our tag (or whatever it's officially called!)?
Poke 49176,201 ought to do the trick!
I'll buy that for a dollar!
