I dunno, but if his girlfriend removes her wig (EDIT: and paints herself green) she's a dead-ringer for the Mekon.

Despite being one of the earliest, I still find Match Point to be the most playable (if not the best looking).

Yep. Match Point gets my vote too! However, IMHO the best overall tennis game on a computer was World Tennis Championships (aka 4D Sports Tennis) on the PC, circa 1993.

Match Point, definitely. Simple but cool graphics, very playable, the best!

International 3D Tennis deserves a mention I think. Some nice touches, and very playable in my opinion, once you get used to it.

Definitely Mario Tennis on the N64.

    Jon.
  • I used to like International Tennis by Zeppelin. Found it more enjoyable than Match Point.

And Mario sports games can F right off as far as I'm concerned.

If we consider table tennis too, Ping-Pong is great :)

Totally agree, it was even better than the Gameboy Tennis launch game.

The only one i remember playing was Passing Shot, it was okay, but not really a massive tennis fan.

When Tim Henman said Andy Murray had inspired a generation, I don't think this is what he had in mind....

Seconded. Definitely the best tennis I have ever played. Even the further incarnations on GC or 3DS don't feel as good as this one, despite adding tons of new stuff (IMO it's the replay transitions which make the subtle but important difference).

That's the only tennis game on any machine that I liked. And Mario Golf on the N64 was the only golf game I ever liked, though to be fair, I've not played Mario Golf or Mario Tennis on any other console, so I can't compare the N64 games to their sequels. I'm no fan of Mario and his crowd as cartoon characters, but they do appear in some very good games.
