...put a little jungle mix together if anyone fancies a listen. mixed on my computer using tracks from my CD collection (and couple of downloads), which is not very 'oldskool' way of doing it , but I can't mix vinyl to save my life:lol:
cheers ill give it a listen, wernt dream team uk garage? Oo
Maybe they had a fridge full of Um Bongo! in their garage. (I think the exclamation mark was part of the name. I do know they make it in the Congo, however).
EDIT: Google tells me the exclamation mark was a figment of my overzealous and possibly unconscious racist imagination.
EDIT2: Apparently they may only drink it in the Congo as well, it may be manufactured elsewhere.
EDIT3: Nope, it's definitely made and drunk in the Congo (way down deep in the Congo in fact), although I think the production line consisting of a hippo, a rhino, a python and a parrot may not conform to EU health and safety regulations. EDIT4: And a marmoset.

haha, that's Dreem Team I think. definitely not the same ones anyway. These guys were bizzy b and pugwash, owners of joker records. Expect fog's been round their house for tea a few times

I used to think it was "He stuck it with the others and he danced a dirty tango", and could never work out in which kind of hole you would find the animal known as a "hole caboodle".
And I discovered yesterday, to my utter astoundednessmentitude, that Um Bongo is still in production and on sale in even the smallest branches of Tesco.
Cool - I'll have a listen tonight. Amen Andrews was one of Luke Vibert's pseudonyms wasn't it?
yep, in fact this isn't strictly 100% oldskool because that track and the bass face sasha one are post-2000, just sound earlier. thanks for checking :-)
Chris - what do you use to mix this stuff? After ten years I'm still on Acid Pro 4 :)
Cool Edit Pro, which is very stone-age and you have to do everything the long way, but the one thing I like is you can be as precise as you want. My brother was showing me Ableton which he uses, and for all its flashy features/menus etc I was amazed at some of the things it couldn't let you do with the wave files

I know loads of people who use Ableton and go on about how it's the best thing since sliced dog's bollock bread, but apart from the beat warper thing (which is useful when mixing stuff with live/non click track drums) I couldn't get on with it at all. Old dogs and new tricks...
If it's just a long mix of stuff with a constant tempo you can't beat Acid and its beatmapper imho. For shorter mashups I tend to use Acid to throw ideas together and then recreate in Reaper so I can add VSTs/FX.
cheers! yeah Im a fan of Boymerang's stuff. underrated
not really, I'd say it's more known by those in the know.. or those who bothered to look beyond whats played ad-Norsium by dj's. soul beat runna is a bit like circles for him.. where thats how many folk know of adam f.
for me , I'd say he's best known for soul beat runna or the remix of technology that he did for no u turn.
I remember reading about his background, he played / worked in "real" bands before messing with dnb, and it was more of a project for him.

thanks, always appreciate your listens. got any of your own mixes out there? I imagine youd cook up a funky brew of toe tappers
No, I don't have any sets on the 'net, fortunately for you lot! ;) I am about two thirds of the way through putting another CDs worth of my own stuff together though (not so dancey this time though, more funk/rock based, very different to the stuff on my YouTube channel). I'll be sure to post it here for you all when it's done.
do you do this kind of stuff for ZX ??
hope so !!
please TZX this !!
in 1997-2000 i sold tickets in a musicpodium/dancehall and danced the last half hour off the night on this type off music.
jungalistic !!
sorry, I have no idea what you mean?! can I make jungle on a speccy? can I turn this mix into a tzx file? no to both of those. would that even work in an emulator? I don't know... also that link you put goes to some random page not connected with anything. thanks for listening anyway! :)

yeah, got one of their albums on vinyl, forgot which one. strange how he went from thrashy skate-punk to really atmospheric dnb

Not really the drummer from my old hardcore band turned D n' B DJ for a while, and now he plays bass in an indie band.
