it's a common one, you would get really annoyed seeing console a lot , it rates up there with L@@K rare ;-)
I had a dilemma earlier regarding something I bought on ebay.. bought a QL (yer ok.. it's a sinclair at least ;) ) weeks ago.. seller took a week to send and then 3 weeks faffing about regarding a PSU for it.. so I opened a case..and ebay refunded me everything, instead of partial.. as it had a gold disk interface.
I don't feel sorry for the seller, but the woman who he was selling it for who I dunno who she is.. as at best the 3rd party comes across a bit del boy, but a lazy/rude/call dodging one at that.
ah well ebay found in my favour and gave me the refund back, but that is down to them mis-describing it in the first place, then faffing about for weeks after and avoid all calls / emails I sent.. THEN they were stupid enough to accuse me of lying about something.. yet ebay had the truth themselves, to know I was being honest.
bottom line is , I wish people would be honest.. 2 cases opened in a month because people can't be truthful
Does the price Macman and the Caber Eaters just went for on ebay count as madness? ?448.23!!!! :o
No. That's waaay beyond madness and into the realms of utterly incurable insanity! I can only imagine that there must be some Russian oligarghs who've got bored with buying football teams and have moved into collecting Spec titles! :)
I've got a few copies of a Macmillan educational game I could do with selling. Maybe I could convince them that they need to buy this off me for several hundred quid? http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0005080 Maybe they'd be interested in, errr, about 6 copies just to be on the safe side?

crazy.. may have gone for that.. but until it's paid for.. it's not sold..
you get idiots mucking up auctions the odd time..
I don't own that title, now no doubt you may see more appearing as a result. really can't justify paying that out for one game thats really an educational title :)
(and partly the reason I keep quiet sometimes, as there is too many lurkers on here... looking for info without the research)
You?re right Fog. Paul's ZXC3 is 30 GBP only and works just nicely. One can even change its content and create a very personal test cartridge.
Edit: Whooooaaa! Just checked the Spanish Spectrum above. Never seen such a crappy auction. I guess he needs the money for a new camera. Does the Spectrum really come with 35.000 games?!?
Woah. The only way that auction makes sense is if you use the BRITISH meanings for "." in numbers (ie a decimal point).... That would make the speccy $8 and it would come with 35 games... That's about right....
who told him I would pay any price for m-a-c huh ? haha
"NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT ON EBAY."
"A TRUE ONE OFF COLLECTION, SOME CLASSIC GAMES HERE AND THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE HERE. I HAVE ALSO SET A VERY LOW BUY IT NOW PRICE, SO GRAB YOURSELF A BARGAIN TODAY."
 LOL, joke afer joke: The minimum bid is ridiculous and it?s neither proved nor shown that everything works, the membrane does not get mentioned at all, the Spectrum was made by Amstrad etc., but at least the C116(!) ships with PSU, Datasette and software...
I wonder why everybody has Make a Chip?
I can't believe so many people where interested in electronic circuits.
Was it given away for free?
No, not in the UK. It was Christmas number one for two years on the trot and I think they even did a "I Remember Make-A-Chip" programme on Channel 4 a couple of years back where a load of "celebrities" claimed that they'd always been fans of it and had bought several copies when it came out, despite them only being 2 months old at the time. I think if you google it you'll find that there are less bundled copies of Wii Sports in circulation than bought copies of Make-A-Chip. I guess times have just changed. Kids today are all into Scrabble and things like that.

:-o:-o:-o:-o that's only helping inflate the price.. thanks mate.. now I never will own one
I still prefer my "they were used as blanks / dev tapes for mire mare"
I still hope one day to find that rare platinum circuit make-a-chip. I reckon fog must have at least one.
you will notice I have listed a bundle of 80 games on a certain site.. also notice there is an absence of m-a-c , but scrabble.. I am not saying anything ..
you still not tracked down incognito ? I dunno .. I do think it's some folk at sinclair tbh.
this is probably my #1 bundle from hell.. it was horrid and most of it cover wise will go in the bin once refunded.. I only bid on it for two game, which (not shown) was thankfully one was pretty nice condition.. funny I separated it from this lot when I took it to my car.
do not look at this at this if you have just eaten.. tbh
behold the wonderment of a floating cassette and the special "underwater" version of dynamite dan..
lets just say I wasn't happy, I opened a case on ebay.. do you think I will get a refund considering it's described as "good" (for nothing , more like)
Fog when you going to list another Futon ...... desperately want one !!!
hahaha... thats going back a while.. that was my sisters / took months to get rid of tbh.. some bloke bought it for his caravan in the end. some bloke demanded he buy it for cash , and the drive was about 200 miles each way hehe. Try freecycle and gumtree also ?
my brother in laws friend bids on stuff when drunk sometimes.. stuff that starts at 1p.. his mrs goes mental as a rusty trombone turned up once, and it now is on their garden fence.hehe
I sold a kindle cover the other day from the ?1 shop that my brother in law had bought by accident.. got ?1.79 for it as someone got in a bidding war over it. well funny, as I know a lot from the ?1 shop is getting in ebay for 2-3 times the price.
it's worth what someone will pay for it.. if i buy an enterprise.. I want it as that.. if I want a speccy I'll use it as that .. errm there was a speccy emulator for the tatung on ebay the other week which went for good money.. sadly it can't be copied or re-made due to the GAL's being locked, and the maker not having the files now.
I got a high ammount of my money back, not the full amount ?18 of the ?26 IRC. but the 1 game I did want "game over 2" was decent enough. I got my money back, but it was funny to dump 3 bags of covers.. which took the brunt of the damage. I got my money back in the end anyway, but had to work to get it sorted..
I was told it went for silly money elsewhere, so didn't mind paying a bit.. the 2nd time I had issues with it. the other being the bundle 10 miles away, where the seller dumped the games outside the house and flew away.
The same seller has another few titles for sale at the same price which at least have the correct photos. He/she also has many titles at perfectly sensible prices, so the unrealistic ones are possibly just genuine mistakes; perhaps some piece of software got the hiccups.

I know someone recently posted something here like: 'I wished I bought that diag rom for 150', so I expected this one to and above 200...
This is really cheap.
I did bid until a bout 80.
What happened with the eBay case?

I lobbed a cheeky ?5 bid on it earlier, thought it'd go for about a tenner, but wow :-o
