not really (at least I haven't heard anyone say it like ricky gervais does in that show)

the 2nd Series of I'm Alan Partridge, and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace are the only ones that spring to mind for me

One of the best newish series I've seen in a long time, and worth a look if you've never seen it is Early Doors.

It's ten years old now mind, but none the worse for it.

Not going out is a funny sitcom, although it was until Tim Vine left:sad:

That's old news. I saw it early doors.

It's probably run its course now. Lee Mack has said that there is too much reality in sit coms, and he has a point. However, however...... that plastic pub he drinks in, is too much.

oh, and the regular cut away scenes of London from the air, presumably filler for when they sell it abroad and have adverts?

    I like Miranda too.

There was a proper tenth series of Red Dwarf funded by BBC-repeats channel 'Dave' - it was pretty good actually.

Sky and Charlie Brooker's cynical spoof of gritty cop dramas, A Touch of Cloth, has just had a second series made. I'm surprised the original hasn't been repeated to b*gg*ry as I haven't seen them all.

Sky have also funded adaptations of a few Terry Pratchett books into mini-series. Hogfather and particularly Going Postal are excellent. The adaptation of The Colour of Magic / The Light Fantastic leaves out far too much and just looks a lot cheaper.

If you left in 2001 you've probably seen all the best episodes of Coupling. It ran for a few more years though.

I didn't like Peep Show, but their sketch series, That Mitchell and Webb Look, was good. They ran two particularly brilliant sketches. One with a Nazi commander who looks at the skulls on his uniform and starts to have doubts about being on the right side. Another where Jesus is accused of assumed racism against Samaritans.

I think Miranda Hart is a good comedy actress, but the script writing for 'Miranda' was the most cringeworthily shocking I've witnessed in a long time..

    I did like Hyperdrive though.

I'm surprised no ones mentioned The IT Crowd yet! That's a really funny sitcom and one that I know has been well loved on here as it had it's own thread once.

The one where they all go to the theatre is just pure comedy gold

What was that one with Amanda Holden? Big Top or something? Got cancelled after 1 series. Utter tosh!

I liked Steven Moffat's sitcom Coupling, although it went off the boil a bit towards the end after Jeff left.

The IT Crowd was mentioned. And yes, it's brilliant. The one where all the management believed that they had the entire internet in one small box was great. And another where you find out that Jen's circle of friends are just as unhinged as Roy and Moss. The discovery of Richmond the Goth (Noel Fielding) in the server room was a good episode too, as was his 'Goth2Boss' self-improvement programme.

If you like your humour dark and (very) twisted, try some Monkey Dust.

Forgot about that. If you want a good film in a similar vein try Four Lions by Chris Morris, creator of The Day Today and Brass Eye.

This is funny, but really horrible at the same time, took me years to find it again, seemed like this particular Timmy Visits Daddy had just vanished. It wasn't on youtube a year or so ago I think?

My bro got me Monkey Dust on DVD for Xmas a couple of years back. Watched about 5 minutes and turned it off.

Don't find IT Crowd funny either although Matt Berry and Richard Ayoade were both in Darkplace which I thought was brill. The Irish guy and the woman are annoying.

think I just have some kind of aversion to 99% of tv series full stop. I was promised that breaking bad was amazing and couldn't even watch 15 minutes.

Monkey Dust is great. Paedofinder General is funny.

There was talk of one last series to wrap everything up and give it a proper ending, but I think talk has now turned to a one off episode as everyone is really busy these days. I hope it happens :-)

Douglas has been busy with advert voice overs, she's been busy with Maltesers, Roy's gone to Hollywood and had minor hits and even Moss has had a film or two out...
