Bugger - can't make the 31st now as Mrs Spoons has a hospital appointment that afternoon (it's nothing too serious, but I don't know if she'll be able to drive afterwards - whoever heard of a hospital appointment on a Saturday?)

I can't do the Saturdays either side so just carry on without me and I'll hopefully be able to come to one later in the year.

given up tbh.. too much faffing about...

set a date for it.. stick to it.. but plenty of advance notice.

if you can't go , ya can't go.. most of these events happen when I can't go or have to take time off for..

need the organisational skills of the acorn lot..lol

The date's been set for 3 weeks now. It's hardly my fault Mrs Spoons has a hospital appointment

    *ahem*

Should we perhaps confirm a venue, then? :-) And possibly let Eq know over on CSS...?

Guys I'm really sorry I don't think I can make Saturday. I disappeared after coming back a few weeks ago due to an operation I had (no not THAT operation, a different one) which should have taken me down for a few days but nearly a month later I'm still not back at work.

If you do decide to have one later in September then I should be ok for that but I went to work for the first time today and had a nightmare.

Those of you who do go, enjoy ... and please let me know if you have another one in a few weeks - or some other time - in London.

I do not really know anyone at all and speak with terrible Russian accent. However, I do live on the outskirts of London and would love to come - would this be OK? :)

nope it's not.. I meant generally.. it just happens a lot, for various things.for me to go , I kinda need a fair bit 1of notice due to work patterns.

I think sometimes giving people less options is better , if that makes sense... and yes that's with chips..

I go to Spanish ones speaking Spanish with a terrible accent (I tell them I speak Manx Spanish, which is a particular dialect with slightly different grammatical rules and the odd vocabulary change ....) so don't let it deter you.

However, to all others on this thread I'd like to know if it's still going on and if there's a venue. There's about a 50/50 chance of me making it (it's a bit of effort getting there from the Isle of Man and I would need a place to stay).

Did this go ahead in the end or is it time to re-organise? :???:

I'd like to know the answer to this ... if yesterday was postponed I'd like to go on the revised date...

I only got back to the UK from Franfurt late in the afternoon on Sunday, so if anyone is up for a beer in London next Saturday or Sunday I could be persuaded to pop along, perhaps with the demo from my Big Secret Project?.

I assumed that nothing happened last weekend. I would love to come to the next meeting, whenever it is, although I won't be able to make it for the coming weekend.

    How about the one after?

Saturday 14th is good for me (unforeseen hospital visits notwithstanding)

Let's make it the 14th then. Was there a preference for a venue? I'm keen on Greenwich (maybe this place: http://ashburnhamarms.com/about.html) because I live south of the river and public transport is a bit lousy around here, but I'm also happy to go with the Green Man near Great Portland Street tube.

I'd prefer the Green Man, if only because it's handy for St Pancras. I can get to Greenwich fairly easily though, but what does everyone else think?

St Pancras is slightly closer to me (I'll be travelling from the west), but I have no real preference and am easy either way.

For what it's worth, I could possibly make something on the 7th. The 14th is definitely out.

But from the sounds of things, 14th is better for everyone else, so I'll just miss this one.
  • edited September 2013
Unfortunately I think I'm going to be otherwise occupied on the 14th.
  • edited September 2013
Well let's say the Green Man and then how are people fixed for the 21st? If those who can make the 14th can also make that and more people can attend that would be better.
  • edited September 2013
    Yep, can do 21st.

Yes, 21st works for me equally well.
  • edited September 2013
I'm busy on the 7th too, but the 14th and 21st should be OK.
  • edited September 2013
Ok. September 21st at the Green Man near Great Portland Street tube. I'll post to CSS later and let Eq know.
