Oblivion. Huge budget, stupid plot, and Tom Cruise. Why can't we get some proper scifi, it's not like there isn't stuff to get ideas from. Iain M. Banks and Alistair Reynolds spring to mind.
After getting through all episodes of Only Fools And Horses over the course of the last couple of months (it was indeed brilliant and I enjoyed it greatly), I've moved onto another of those british series which sadly, despite being immensely popular in the UK, were never shown on television over here - Auf Wiedersehen Pet.
So after watching the first couple of episodes, and just to stay on-topic I'll mention what I'm currently watching - it's S1E6, the one where Neville gets accused of beating up a local lass, with the police showing up at the building site and all that.
Anyway, so far I've enjoyed the show, pretty entertaining and the 80s setting gives me a blast from the past. Though compared to OFAH, a few of the blokes, especially Oz, can be difficult to understand thanks to their accents but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I bet Boozey and mile sound like that :p
There's just something that bothers me but that's cos I'm a "local" so it is much more noticeable to me than it was to the target audience - that is, some of the supporting cast playing the roles of Germans are played by british actors so they all speak with a thick accent (or even worse, some slight mistakes).
Plus the lads drinking Becks in D?sseldorf (which is a notorious Altbier stronghold) is somewhat inconsistent, but I've read up on this and apparently a lot of the filming was done in Hamburg and obviously in the UK itself.
Finished Breaking Bad can't wait until Sunday night, I may even get up 2 hours earlier than I usually do for work so I can watch it right away rather than waiting til' the next day, and watching the DVR.
Dunno if it's on Sunday night in England, but that's when it starts again here?
August 11th came around pretty quick eh Vampyre?
I'll try and watch it before I go to work so I can wax lyrical about it while I'm skiving off on the same night

Professional Mel-the-Bell Simulator................"So realistic, I found myself reaching for the Kleenex King-Size!" - Richard Darling
Just got round to watching the latest episode of Breaking Bad...
Good stuff, some eye openers that's for sure, can't wait til' the next one's on, I'll make sure I watch it right away instead of waiting 3 days this time :D
Day off work had to wait since work has been hectic for the last few days :(
World War Z. I noticed this film received "average" reviews. However, despite it constantly reminding me of the Resident Evil games, I found it quite enjoyable but that's probably because this is the first film I've seen for at least a year!

Part of this was filmed in Glasgow and very near to where i work. It was supposed to be Philadelphia but i could see Greggs and the City Chambers in the background:smile:
Someone told me that Brad Pitt walked into Greggs and got a Cornish pasty while filimg there but i don't believe that.

Bloopers continue to appear in films lol. That's "attention to detail" for ya. Mind you, on reading Wikipedia, this film had a few setbacks and rewrites. Fortunately, all turned out well in the end and apparently a sequel is in the works - yay!

Yeah I'd be sad if I was watching Sheff play too, or bored out of my mind at least :p
I once read that most people who watch Cell Block H are men who stay up late & dress in their wifes clothes.....
What channel is it on please? ;)
Its on my SCART channel. DVD box set you see. Yes, I have no life!
And no wife to dress up in her clothes with ;-)
yesterday was the car industry
tonight the food culture.
both programs have used kraftwerk songs. :D
guess the respective producers thought they were being original
its only been on 20 mins and rick stien has managed to get two sly digs at the war. :p
How odd. I was going to watch that last night but ended up reading a book instead. If I was any more gangsta I'd shoot myself in the arse.
That's pretty freaky!
I got this (tiny pic, but it was the only one I could find) out of the loft last night. Might even stick it on now.
Can't believe I hadn't watched old boy before - could have sworn I'd seen it but must have it mixed up with something else
Good old vengeance movies :D
