Plus there are several items that are impossible to collect, another thing which the official POKEs ending up fixing.
There's an invisible object off the main stairway. There was a rumour you could reach it by jumping from the 39th step, but you couldn't and you just die trying. An official POKE moves it to the top level of The Hall - it's still invisible, but you can see a black square when the flying pig goes behind it.

Another official POKE removes one of the deadly objects from under the Conservatory Roof, to make it possible to collect all the objects without dying.

I recall some pokes to make a platform to get to the one on the first landing, although that seemed a bit extreme.

I remember the pokes moved it to the hall but I never saw it, but what you say makes sense now.

There's still minor things like the beach object counting for two (two placed in the same location by accident maybe?) and the swimming pool auto collect, I suspect the latter might be due to the pool colour, if the object was on the side it might not auto collect but I've not looked into that.

I think this is my first thread on here that's actually ran to more than a couple of pages. :)

The item in "Swimming Pool" is automatically collected because the Air-cells have white INK in that room.

do you have a poke to alter the ink for the room?

I seem to remember the object is a tap?

    POKE 57248,c
where c is the colour-attribute for Air in Room 31.

    Wow, this is excellent! :)
And the comments for each room screenshot is amusing, great effort.
I've always heard of the Attic bug, but never seen it "in action".

    Thank you.

I did think about a video but given the nature of it changes each time slightly its difficult. If you run your emulator at full speed when it starts to go amiss you'll notice odd characters appearing in the time / objects section too sometimes.

Best way to corrupt it: After visiting the attic either go the kitchen or better still climb the megatree, this especially sets it off.

Hmm.. this point has always interested me. I've heard it said on more than one occasion that it is possible (just very difficult) to jump up the tree with the block there. I've tried and tried and tried over the years but never managed it. I don't think it's possible.

It is possible. I remember doing this as a kid. And to make sure my memory hasn't failed me I've just had another go.
Here's the .rzx file to prove it. Still got it after 20 odd years ;-)

    banyan tree .rzx

Note there's a slight pause mid way through the tree whilst I'm asked a homework question

You can get through the tree, as your rzx shows. But there is no way to get up the right hand side, which is where the problem lies.

I thought I'd make a quick .rzx of it in action for those who did not want to try. :) You can get it here , although it did not end with a proper crash, it does vary a fair bit though.

Would be interested to see others too, I can host them if you want.

EDIT... It might only play back in Spin, it did not want to work properly in Spectaculator.
