Dizzy spells

No, this isn't a new game starring a certain egg!
I've been getting random dizziness spells over the last few days especially if i look upwards or sometimes downwards, but sometimes just randomly.
I've also had a slight nagging headache today so i've got an appointment with the docs tomorrow but i'm starting to get concerned, i hope its not the start of something serious.
At first i thought it was just hunger cos i'm eating less to lose weight but that doesn't seem to be the case. At least tomorrow i'll get an extra hour in bed cos i won't be in work till later but i'm a bit worried:sad:

Not enough water-imbibing going on, methinks.

Could also be a sneaky case of sudden-death-syndrome.

Oh my, I actually laughed at some answers before getting to the OP :(

My guess is that in fact a visit to the doctor is do, and guessing, since you are reducing "portions" there may be a certain vitamin deficit.

    Best wishes ;)

    btw,

Flu's been going round here, so maybe it's worked it's way over to you? Could well be the weather as well, as it often causes headaches and dizzyness with me. See what the doc says...

Hope it's nothing to crappy for you anyway, and you get well soon dude...best to try and not worry too much until you see the doc though! I know from experience that worrying too much can make you even iller....easier said than done though, I know..

Just whatever you do, don't check online for symptoms! Always gives you worst case scenario....

It sounds like low blood pressure to me, but could also be high BP too as if it's normally high and then suddenly drops for whatever reason, that can make you dizzy too (I had high BP for years and controlled it with medications). Either way, if it's BP then it's reasonably easily fixed (for want of a better phrase). Your Dr will sort you out :)

I get wobbly at work all the time, but I work nights, I count it as a free high....

Sad but true actually, plus my wife is green lighted to sue like a mother**ker if I drop at work, given all the sh*t I've gone through there over the last year or so :D

I wouldn't worry too much at this point... For reasons I won't bore you with, I spent a fair bit of time last year researching this topic:- there are a few potential causes and most of them are not serious at all and last no more than a few weeks at most.

As it happens to you when you move your head, I'll go out on a limb and say it's probably inner-ear related; a slight knock to the head or cheekbone can cause temporary damage to the tiny bones in the middle ear that you rely on for balance, and likewise an inner-ear infection (which is quite common with flu or heavy colds) can upset your balance and cause dizziness. But the doctor will no doubt have a poke about and tell you what's what and put your mind at ease a bit.

Can't work out if Sue is your mother or your wife's. Sounds a bit perverse though?

While that may get the blood pressure up in the short term it doesn't address the root of the problem.

Unfortunately investigating properly will mean taking his head off.

I don't get it. I think you need to work on this one, it's not as good as your usual material :p

Every now and again, I like to throw a rare, vaguely genuine and/or helpful post into Chit Chat -- just to keep everyone on their toes :p

Get a lot of dizziness thanks to anaemia. Also get positional hypotension, most often if I stand up quickly.

Get yourself to the quacks zx1.

Hopefully, it'll be nothing more than a touch of dehydration or a touch of being rundown. Better to be safe than sorry though.

You need to be up, fighting fit and buckling your swash on these boards chap!

Well, i've been to the docs and they've found i have an ear infection, and a high fever.
So i have some pills for the dizziness and will have to take aspirin for the fever, i still feel very tired though so i hope i feel better soon as i have a big night out next week.
Had to cancel a night out tonight, cos i can't take alcohol and feel too tired.
Anyway, hopefully i'll be better in a few days once the pills take effect.

Starting to feel better, the dizzy spells are becoming less severe and less frequent. The pills must be working.

Dr. Cowley to the rescue :) Glad you're on the mend zx1.

I've been getting funny headaches and blurred vision lately. Turns out it's almost certainly my new glasses... swapped back to the old ones today and no more blurry vision, at least until I finish this glass of cider :)

That rather depends on what the pills are, dunnit? Personally, if it says "no alcohol" on the label then I wouldn't f**k about myself -- at best they could be rendered completely ineffective (I know with most antibiotics you might as well not bother taking them if you have a drink), at worst they might make you puke up a lung, or sh*t out a kidney, or something. :o :)

Aye, best to stay off the booze until the course of tablets is done. Glad to hear you're getting better though dude.

Except it's all lies. There are a couple that you really mustn't drink with, and a couple that it's probably a bad idea to. They tell you not to drink on any of them though!
