I haven't touched the story for a while. I'm concentrating on hidden packages at the mo; got all the radioactive barrels, got all the submarine parts, now tackling the letter scraps, which are a bit of a bugger to find. May have to resort to using a guide for these, methinks - it's taking me ages with Chop!

i used the guide for the last few of those, glad i did as they were in places id already checked. :-D

There have been a couple I've not been able to get to, although I know they're there (i.e. Chop is barking at something out of reach, and I can hear the paper rustling noise that the scraps make). So I'm writing down which ones to revisit in a helicopter, but even with those I've only found 24/50. Definitely time to consult the interwebz. :-D

the socialclub tells you what you need to collect. so pretty handy
I bought the official guide book in GAME today as it's been reduced (already!) to ?9.99 and as I've finished the story mode, I thought it would be pretty much spoiler free now (it is to be honest) But I can see this being really handy when it comes to finding all the hidden stuff. The under water bits will be easy as they beep on the map, but so far I've only tracked down 4 of the letter pages...
Spoiler:
The guide I bought shows that when you find all of them you open up some more stranger missions :D
and not a single UFO part. Infact, the guide has maps showing where all the free gun and armor pick ups are (there's loads knocking about) and in all of my in game hours so far, I've only found one gun (the sniper rifle by the observatory) and one piece of armor out in the wild, so my investigating skills are far from their best with this game :-(
I've finally got some cash to spend in story mode, tens of millions of dollars, so can have some fun messing about
though I've way to go, might have finished main story but loads of side missions, and the money is not enough to buy everything available, need to make millions more

Hmmm... interesting....
Spoiler:
Just out of curiosity, did you exploit the stock market during the assassination missions?

I did, well, kind of! I didn't really understan it at first and by the time I did, I was on the last one and although I invested $1000's I don't think I got too much back. I guess the art is to put every penny in and get a decent return that way? I'll know better for a replay though ;-)

Spoiler:
I've only done one so far, and I buggered that up a bit. Bought the shares (spent every penny I could on them), waited around for them to rise, they reached something like +80%, got an invite to race online, joined, got booted out, when it stuck me back in the single player game the shares had gone down to +50%. Reverted to an earlier save, and this time they only rose to +49%. I've read about this online, and apparently it's something Rockstar have put into place to stop people cheating. You have to get it right first time for maximum profit. It could've at least warned me that this would happen - I wouldn't have joined the sodding online thing if I'd known that. Still managed to make about $600,000 across all three characters though.
Anyway, I'm now doing EVERYTHING available that earns money, building up us much as I can with each character before doing the next assassination. I've got about 2.5 mil with Michael, so I should see some nice dollar rolling in with the next one. ;)
[spoiler there is a glitch where if you run around and around inside Michaels house as Trevor and keep pressing jump, you get credited money to your account, I did it to get myself over the $100million mark to buy that secret aircraft carrier I wanted to land my planes on ;)[/spoiler]
i dont think i?ll make the big bucks without a replay. thought heists would be available after the main story ends.
Maybe they're planning some DLC with a new story for the main characters, rather than introducing new ones like with GTA IV as not everyone (ie me) is good enough at the stockmarket stuff to be able to afford the $120million for that golf club ;-)
was playing some races last night online, and the host picked a bicycle race with weapons enabled.
picked the shotgun and set off slowly so i could be behind to do my shooting.
as soon as the weapons got enabled everyone opened fire, but as you know you need to tap a to move. so aiming was out with the right thumbstick, so everyone tried to steer into an aiming position.
which resulted in everyone veering off course wildy. :D

aye could do, hope so anyway.
was keeping an eye out for any possible dlc characters throughout the game.
maybe chop, that other dog, and mr raspberry jam could go on adventure together. :-D

I can't decide what I want to do :D
So now I'm heading to Trevors second Rampage, and a random encounter pops up, bugger me!
Also got some free stock from a guy I helped out (Ithink this was mentioned earlier on in the thread?).
Organic Petfood.
I had a really good sesh on it yesterday, and I'm really not ready to unplug yet :(
Although I am happy to be actually doing something with my time off work instead of just pissing it up the wall :D
Simple - refuse to go!
( "Here Be Dragons!" Eh? -Ed )

Which reminds me ... I can't find that Clicking Cookie thread! :-o

Cheater :D
If you're gonna misquote me, at least get the spoiler right so you don't ruin it for me and everyone else who doesn't know the cheats!
