I'm gonna quit

edited October 2013 in Chit chat
Probably many know about my conflict to administration zx.pk.ru and with the subsequent removal of an account.
I asked about account restoration:
http://zx.pk.ru/showthread.php?p=633656#post633656

Besides I sent the letter to the administrator with apologies that caused damage.

I was bothered by the Russian scene of ZX-Spectrum, all made me wrongly is interpreted and blackened:

post#272:http://zx.pk.ru/showthread.php?t=6437&page=28

http://zx.pk.ru/showpost.php?p=613625&postcount=683

I was tired of people and of trolls known as LVD and TOGYAF. They are full of envy, rage and lack of talent.

my incomplete project:
bmp2scr with batch conversion+source
http://tslabs.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=246

on what it is necessary focus:
http://atariage.com/forums/topic/216513-atasciipad/

and two maybe three demos not finished while.
After what - No more demos,no more coding. no more games!
I like Atari's commonwealth, where people around more friendly.

Farewell, with you it was cheerful and interesting.

Why don't you just stop on aboard here at WOS rather than storming off?

I agree with Andrew, have a drink, chill out for a few days, and find a new home for your hobbying, don't let the trolls drive you away from the whole scene

    Hi Goblinish,

I read zx.pk.ru but not enough to know the true nature of your conflict.

I have noticed however that you are valuable and prolific member of the community - making a lot of interesting quality demos and other stuff.

Just relax, do your job, write demos, send them to AAA website and don't care what people who don't like you write about you.

You are a man, you need to have hard balls :) Will an actor, writer, movie director or anybody else quit his job because somebody criticises him?
    No, he will go on.

On the other hand it would be good if you honestly analysed why you get into these conflicts while other people stay peacefully on forums for years.

Some of us just struggle to make ourselves understood. It frequently happens that something I posted in good faith is interpreted completely differently from how I intended it. I write for a living but if I spent the time on forum posts that I do on my work it would take me a day of rewrites to get the tone just right for a single post. So I accept that sometimes I will upset people unintentionally and I'm ok with that. When people start attacking me I take a break from the forum. zx.pk.ru does seem to be a lot more political than WoSf though. I couldn't even get an account there so I signed up with nedopc.org instead.

Off-topic, but seeing as your hiatus seems to being over for quite a while now, maybe that [gone sailing] user level should be replaced by the regular one ...
  • So this isn't a thread about Stoptober?

g0blinish, it is forbidden to leave the Spectrum scene. Uncle Sinclair needs you. Do not ask what zx.pk.ru can do for you, but what you can do for wos.

As we used to say on comp.sys.sinclair "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" *20-minute noodly guitar solo*

No one of us can be here forever. And that's probably good, otherwise this planet would be too much populated by now :D

I can't speak about all the world but in Poland Atari folks are actually quite friendly and supportive.

C64 and Amiga users are different case. I haven't seen even a half of so much idiots in any other retro community like among Amigans

@g0blinish: Why have you not asked me to help fixing the GUI in Bmp2scr? It was easy done in few minutes. Also most conversion modes work now fine again without crashing the converter.
I think, I will remove the Painter as ZX Paintbrush is better suited for this. Also SAM Mode 3 will be probably removed to stop Roger Jowett pesting me.

I fail to see how any of this has anything to do with WoS though...

Have we become the go-to board for flouncing now then? Got a beef with the Gardener's World question forums? Why waste a good flounce on Pigeon-Fanciers UK boards? Come to WoS, where they appreciate the fine art of flouncing. Everybody welcome - for about 10 minutes.

I have to say I don't agree with thx1138's comment on Atari fans.

Over at Atari-forums I have had no problems, although I've seen the odd flame war. What of it? We are all different and sometimes it's easy to take the wrong end of the stick (means "misinterpret what the other guy is saying").

But on the Internet, as in real life, you will meet the occasional douche bag. Fact of life!

    Cheers

You can't really be considered a "fact of life". More like a fig newton of the widewebz, yo.
