I was thinking about getting that when it comes down in price. Maybe in a couple of weeks there'll be some youtube videos showing the improvements and quests as the blurbs I've read about them don't say anything other than "improved boss fights" and "new missions". Not really enough to make a decision about buying it.

I have a couple of minor gripes about it already actually. It doesn't let you install the game on the 360 version (not that I know if it does on the PS3, but most installs are mandatory on the PS3 anyway, so I assume it does), which doesn't bother me all that much, but it would've been nice to be able to install it. Also, the SmartGlass dual screen mode (which sounds like it could be really cool, especially for hacking etc.) just flat out doesn't work. Like, at all! Apparently, the PS3 version uses the PS Vita to do all that stuff, so if you own both of those machines, I'd definitely go for the PS3 version.

That said, I am still very much enjoying the game. Forgot just how good it was/is.

By the way, how much did you see it going for? Game have it on offer at the mo, ?25 (down from ?35 apparently)...

After all this time owning a PS3, I've only just discovered that they can play PS1 discs! So, just had a wee session of Destruction Derby for the first time in about 8 years. Still great fun!

I saw that Deus Ex Director's Cut on Steam where they also offer an upgrade to users who already have the game at a reduced price, but I just couldn't be won over by "improved boss fights" as they are only a small part of the game. I bet the added content is interesting but still ...

Have been continuing the game recently and it's quite enjoyable (not quite as much as Deus Ex 1 though) but what slightly annoys me is how you are discouraged from using any guns as you'll gain a lot more Praxis from using non-lethal takedowns.

Same for all the computer stuff, you keep finding passwords for various computers and terminals yet I make it a point to hack them all anyway - to gain Praxis and the additional rewards from Datastores. Thus I made it a priority early-on to gain level 5 hacking as well as max out the Hacking:Stealth aug (the one that lowers the chance of being detected). I assume hacking must be a little harder on the consoles because you don't have the mouse arrow to select nodes with ...

tbh I haven't actually looked at the price, I thought it'd be around the ?30 mark seeing as it's not really a new game, but it's not really a "game of the year edition" either.

It'll probably be early next year by the time I've got cash for it so hopefully it'll be below 20 by then :D
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Seriously almost every thread in chit chat?

    Rachel Aldana is a minger.

You wanna sign up to a cam site or some sh*t, plenty of fatties on those, I know I've had enough pop-ups from sites which aren't even porn, but have dodgy games and movies! They always bounce up a pop-up to Livejasmin, which always has a cam stream to a grotesque fat floppy fanny lipped mongoloid.

Just your cup o' fish as it were.

Actually that was my old PC, I've not seen a pop-up from that nasty site since I got it, because this one blocks it, and it's set up to block all those sites ha I can steal without being spoonfed fat munters on the side :p

Just managed to get Rocksmith 2014 up and running. Got it delivered yesterday but then found out about the BT Infinity 2/UBI soft problemo...

Luckily for me, I get home today and all was sorted. Then to find out my cable wouldn't work! AAAAARRRRRGGGHHH!!

Then found out that the cable detaches at one end and needs turning around. Did this and HEY PRESTO! I'm chokking away to Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar...

    Awesome stuff!

Been playing GTA III on the iPhone on my way to and from work this week. I'm on the second island, doing the Donald Love missions, and I think I've taken the (understandably) tricky controls as far as I can. Bleedin' difficult!!! Still a great game, although the city feels a bit soulless now after the "living, breathing" detail put into more recent games in the series.

Been messing around with MAME, been fiddling with Metamoqester, which is a bit like Monster Maulers on PCP.

Got Red Earth and it works but to play it you have to wait 15 minutes while the CD ROM loads, even though there's no actual CD. So needless to say I haven't played it yet, which annoys me, because I liked that game back when I was a teenager.

Oh well, back to GTA V I guess? :D

I was really pissed up when I rambled that bile onto the screen, and I didn't mean to come across as an aggressive anti-social cock if I did (which I probably did :D).

still plugging away on Morrowind when I can, nice being able to look things up online when I get lost - found that very frustrating on the console one when I first played it (shonky directions from the NPC leads to endless wandering)

Don't forget to shout "You N'wah!" at them when you next see them.. :-P

I think I actually preferred the journal/quest directions in Morrowind. Admittedly it's much more of a pain to remember to go, but I thought it felt a bit more authentic than just having a list of quests and map markers like with Oblivion & Skyrim.

There are a set of CPS3 roms that come "pre-loaded" so that you don't need to wait 15 minutes. Having said that, I understand that once they have loaded once, you don't need to wait the 15 minutes again. Great game though and one that I always wanted to play in the arcades, but nowhere seemed to have it!

I've joined the flock over the weekend and bought the new Call of Duty on Xbox360. I was just taken in with the advertising hype I guess? Anyway, it's the first CoD I've played since CoD3 (and that was only on the instore Xbox units with the 360 first came out).

I'm really quite enjoying it to be honest! I'm working my way through the story mode (which is probably a first for a CoD player  ) and although it seems to me like a series of disjointed levels, it plays very well and the story is suitably bonkers.

The multiplayer is as solid as I was expecting it to be. I'm having the usual problem of emptying a clip into someone, only for them to kill me in 2 shots! But I found (rather oddly) that playing in "hardcore" games greatly reduced this and I was able to rack up 10+ kills in each round which is bloody good going for me! I do think it's quite sad that there seems to be alot of players out there how must do nothing but play CoD online 24/7 as some of them are level 50+ already and have over 200 games played. It's only been out a week or so :-(

One other thing I noticed is that I don't think it's as grapically good looking as it should be. At times it looks great (the underwater sections and the forest bits for example) but at other times some of the textures are very low-res and the polygon count on some of the main characters is a bit low. At least one major character has a semi square head for example. I got the feeling while playing that the developers have done this intentionally in order to try and get people to upgrade to Xbone ans PS4 copys when they come out as there's really no other excuse for the low poloygon counts these days!

I haven't played Ghost but I have played CoD: Modern Warfare and it was a fantastic campaign with a well written story. If you can find a discounted copy, I would strongly suggest playing it on the 360.

Yeah I don't know if it's cos' I have 2 CD files, and they're conflicting with one another, or if I actually need both of them to get it working? But it tells me to use one button to load the CD, and another to cancel as it already has one loaded, but if I try to cancel it it says invalid disc and I have to load.

I'm playing GTA V at the min though so I think I'll load the CD file while I'm playing around on that game, and just have it loading in the background. I'm actually really loving the idea of getting to play Red Earth again, as the last time I tried to get it for MAME a year or so back there were no working files out at the time.

Also Bob if you like Red Earth you should give Monster Maulers, and Metamoqester a go.

Monster Maulers pretty much started this type of game off with the whole fighter characters killing big boss type monsters instead of other human characters. Weird thing is It was a Konami stand alone arcade machine but I'm absolutely sure it was running on Neo-Geo hardware when I first saw it in an arcade in town back when I was about 14? Guess my mind is playing tricks on me? :D

I know you like those frantic fighting games too so Metamoqester should be well up your street, the action gets so insane sometimes it'll make your eyes bleed. It's really best played in 2 player so you can both go to town on the monsters, but it's OK in single player as well, just a bit hectic. But you like those Capcom mashups so I'm sure it won't completely melt your brain ;)

Metamoqester is the one with the giant house-beastie, isn't it! That's great fun! :)

I've been taking a break from GTAV and playing Sphynx & The Cursed Mummy on PS2.... nice arcade platformer type thing with nods to Zelda with the puzzles!

Deus Ex: HR (DC). Just had the first of the reworked boss fights, the one with the big annoying bloke with the explosives. My stealthy character killed him with a single pistol shot. I'm liking what they've done with this. :-D

I read that as bloke I had real trouble with on the original is now vulnerable to a single shot, so now he's not annoying any more :p

If they redux games they should make the bosses more evil not super easy pfffft! :D

I've properly started on GTA's The Ballad of Gay Tony. I've done a few missions and its not bad although a lot harder than the Lost and the damned but still good although will need more time to get through the missions as they're taking more time to complete!

Well I finally got Dark Souls on download, hope it isn't free next month ;)

Rang a bell, only got the Drake Sword just before the dude at the bottom of the watchtower nearly made me rage quit. (When I had choice between instadeath with demon and 2 dogs, and not much else). But then I levelled up and I have even better enormous sword since my DEX is now 18. And the dude dropped a ring which allows me to carry enormous sword without being slow!

Finally got somewhere new to go when I started feeling confident enough to take on black knights, which aren't even bosses ;). I think it's going to get even harder soon though so retired for the night.

Trying to avoid cheese so Drake Sword only when grinding was getting too much, also didn't pick the Master Key first playthrough (well 3rd or 4th playthrough realised it is important to save humanity for kindling).

So when should I upgrade my weapons? Upgraded a mace early on since it had B strength bonus but then got a halberd which served me well until I got the big sword, but the bonuses are bad for that compared to enormous sword. I don't want to save all my upgrades and then find out I should have upgraded earlier!

Is it worth upgrading armour? I have gargoyle helm and elite warrior everywhere else.

I'm a female cleric with "large upper body" ;) "You don't look hollow? Thou hast mongy lard?"

Good game though ("Surprise! Have some of this!" seems to be my latest catchphrase) ;)

EDIT: It's not really a "role playing game though" unless your definition of an RPG is lots of stats that aren't explained very well and getting killed repeatedly!

That'd be Havel and the ring can be very useful. If you're playing as a pure melee character with heavy armour and wielding a big sword then it's pretty much essential.

You have seen nothing, absolutely NOTHING, yet ;-)

Don't ever upgrade the Drake Sword! By the time you've fully upgraded it you will have got much better weapons so it's just a waste of Dragon Scales. The Fire Zweihander is probably the best sword in the game. You can get the Zweihander by killing off some of the skeletons that are in the graveyard by the Firelink Shrine. It will be some time before you can ascend the weapon though - first you have to upgrade it to +10, then one of the four blacksmiths (who's a git to find) will take the Fire Ember and ascend it to a Fire weapon. Then you have the joys of upgrading that to +10. A parry/riposte gives about 900 hit damage though, and it scales with Strength!
Is it worth upgrading armour? I have gargoyle helm and elite warrior everywhere else.

Yes, it is, but I don't think it's worth upgrading the basic stuff you get near the start. When you eventually get down into The Depths (you're gonna have fun there, most of the floor is poisonous, not to mention that bitch Quelaag) there's a Crimson Set which is worth upgrading as it has pretty good protection for very little weight.

Don't ever put any more than 40 into Stamina as it caps at that point. Similarly with Intelligence, 45 is the limit for the best catalyst.

Once you've got used to the game and comlpeted your first playthrough I can strongly recommend http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Magic+User+Guide Magic guide. I've followed it and I've got a really strong magic/melee character that can wipe out some of the deadliest enemies without too much frustration (Ornstein and Smough - bastards!). It doesn't make the game easier, just more manageable. My first playthrough character gets his backside kicked on NG+, this one will probably be considerably better.
