Talking of the Tony "Multi-Millionaire" Hawk and Tony "I think he was in Red Dwarf" Hawks mix up. These wrongfully sent emails make me chuckle.

    Hello.

Im a fan of yours becuase my friend called Chris knows you.Do you know him?He lives in london.I live in england, melton keyens.

    From a fan named James

    James,

There must be some mistake. There are no people in London called Chris. I went out all day yesterday and asked around. Very disappointing. No 'Chris'es at all.
Perhaps you've got me mixed up with the Uruguayan politician Chesney Hawkes?

I became really good at all of the Bomberman games on the PC Engine. My mates had one in the 90s and kept it for years even after they had other newer consoles. I used to go over there almost every Saturday for years and played Bomberman with 4 or 5 players. I have played Bomberman on other consoles but none of them ever got the game play balance right, especially the newer consoles where they tried to make the graphics as pretty as possible. I prefer the viewing angle of the PC Engine versions and the timing of the game play is spot on. I played Bomberman on the 360 with those same mates back in England recently and it was funny how everybody fell back in to the same hierarchy as back in the old days.

The PC Engine/TurboGrafx is a great machine though. I wish I had one now.:-(

I used to work with a guy who insisted he won the European Tekken Championship, never been quite sure whether to believe him even though he told me all about the competition and how he won etc, and it didn't seem like he was lying. anyway I played him at tekken a few times he used to do ridiculous 68563-move combos on me with his eyes closed (probably) whereas I am completely pants at it even though I played it quite a bit at uni. msybe he was 'naturally good' at it?

I've only ever seen one real one I think? Back in about 91' or 92'?

Microbyte in Newcastle they wanted about 400 quid for it, it was one of the original white Japanese ones, and they had the typical hucard games for it and nothing else. I think they had Jackie Chan, China Warrior (Or Chu Man, or one of it's many names?), Bonk, Tiger Road, Liquid kids, and Shinobi? They may have had Coryoon, but that was about 20 quid more expensive than the rest of them, and they wanted 45-60 quid for the games :o

Even at that time it was daylight robbery for an import machine that was a bit niche, even back then the TurboGFX or Turbo Duo was available, and probably a lot cheaper, and with English text games.

the again Microbyte were a **** shop, you think what I just said there about a Jap PC Engine was bad you should've seen what they wanted for a Neo-Geo :o

    No wonder they went bankrupt!

My mates got the Turbo Duo later on as well. They also had a NeoGeo! Obviously they were quite well off. Great for me though, they always had the latest games and consoles. I lived next door to them until I was 16 and even now we still play against each other on Xbox Live.

Or Rocksmith, even. Great fun and also a very good learning tool to boot.

    It certainly is!

Got the 2014 release about a month back and already my playing/technique is coming along in leaps and bounds. :-)

Goldeneye, Halo series and more recently the COD games multiplayer....I find I can usually think my way to a very good K/D ratio despite being only average technically

Champ manager 94 I love but can usually win without much effort

With you on that one, but Champ Man '93. I won the FA Cup with Plymouth Argyle (IIRC) whilst still in the 3rd Div on that game!

Sadly, it's modern descendant Football Manager from about 2009 onwards has been a bit cack.

Tony Hawks 2 I'd have given you a run for your money ;)

As for Tekken I'm OK at them, but Tekken 2 for all it's extras is my least favourite of all of them.
