    Ornstein & Smough then now...

EDIT: Ok that's quite hard, maybe I should try again when I'm not drinking beer. Wasted all except 1 of my humanity getting Solaire to help me out too, so now I should probably do it on my own. Dunno whether it is best to kill fatso or skinny first.

I did warn you ;-) I spent hours trying to get past them the first time. A magic build has no problem with them once you get the Homing spells. I even cleared them first time on NG+ last night.

I always get rid of the little 'un first as the big 'un is far easier to read his wind-ups. Note: always concentrate on one and kill him off. Reason being that when one goes down the other consumes his powers and gets full health back so there's no point trying to whittle down both HP at the same time.

Played a 4 player Pac Man at the arcades today. I'm happy to say I beat my 12 year old son and his mates at it. :D

they were prolly shocked to see a game where you had to use your hands. :D

Hang on is Kifflom the one where you have to wear the Epsilon Robes for 10 days straight? If so you're a long way off what I'm on about. I thought you just meant you were doing the Epsilon Strangers and Freaks missions in general?

Yeah, once you've worn the robes for 10 days, you then have to walk five miles in the desert, so I applied the rubber bands and had him walk around in a circle at the Sandy Shores airstrip for about half an hour. :D

Yeah well you're pretty much done like I said when it comes to it don't be honest, you'll know what I meant when you get there. If you don't know what I mean you'll kick yourself afterwards :D

Was down in Liverpool for a few days last week, and I remembered to take English money this time so I was able to get some games without the hassle of the retailers thinking I was trying to buy stuff with Monopoly money!

Anyway, I picked up Doom 3 - BFG Edition on 360, which means I might actually complete Doom 3 now, having started it about 10 times on original Xbox..

Speaking of the original Xbox, I picked up some games for that too..Metal DungeonKnights Of The Temple and New Legends! I've yet to play those though and they're probably crap...

Oh and I've just reached the

Started playing Orcs Must Die! 2 which was one of the games included in the Humble Jumbo Bundle currently offered on the eponymous site. The purchase was worth it for this game alone, great fun. I highly recommend this bundle ...

finished blood dragon, really enjoyed it, loads of great 80s references.

prolly gonna give up on dark souls, too hard and i havent got a clue whats going on. one of the loading tips said something like.

if you need to use a blood soul you must first be hollow and have some humanity.

i dont know what any of that means!!!!

the controls dont make me want to continue much either

also i picked a thief character, which said he was stealthy and had a skeleton key. no doors open and i dont see any stealth in there, just battering super hard baddies.

might try a new stronger guy some time.

You picked the wrong class to start with, Thief is crap, and yup there's no stealth in this game really. The two best classes are Pyromancer (you can chuck fireballs around) or Sorceror (you start with a wand). If you want to give it a good go, try following this guide http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Magic+User+Guide as you'll get a really powerful build that makes the game much more manageable - note: manageable, not easy... I strongly recommend following it.

Dunno what blood soul is in reference too, but you use Humanity for:

    1. Regaining health (not recommended unless you're VERY desperate).
    2. Improve enemy drop rates (weapons, shards (for upgrading weapons)).
    3. To turn Human at a bonfire (you're initially dead or Hollow). This controls the online aspect of the game. Other players can invade your game when you're Human - which can be a good or bad thing depending on winning/losing!
    4. You must be Human to Kindle a bonfire - which means you get five more Estus (health) flasks each time you kindle a bonfire up to a max of 20. (If you're Hollow) So use 2 Humanities to change your Humanity level to two, rest at the bonfire and Restore Humanity. Rest again and Kindle Bonfire - you can do this at every bonfire in the game (there are around 20-30 IIRC). Initially you can only kindle a bonfire once, to continue upgrading you need the Rite Of Kindling which you won't get until much later in the game.

To be honest you can ignore Humanity for your first playthrough other than kindling bonfires. Stick with the controls - at first it seems cumbersome but when you get used to it it's one of the greatest control systems ever devised. Oh, and the game is not big on exposition - have a look at a Wiki if you really need to know the story behind it, not that it affects the game in any way.

It really is worth giving a chance to. Once you're deep into the game and have "got" it, other games feel, well, **** in comparison!

Forgot to mention, pick the Master Key as the starting item as it unlocks a few doors in the Undead Burg and eventually frees Master Logan in Sen's Fortress, which will be essential if you follow the Magic User build.

Well my God of War Saga finally showed up 3 days late (Probably cos' of the bad weather it snowed last Friday, and it's still here, and we're expecting more tonight).

I'm probably not going to play it right now, as I'm still wasting massive amounts of life with GTA: Online, and I still have The Last of Us to play as well.

I've got plenty to keep me busy into the new year I'm sure :D

I'm annoyed the reason that collection was so cheap is apparent, came with a disc that's got God of War 1 + 2 on it, another disc that has 3, and a f**king DL voucher for the 2 PSP games.

It says it's going to take 20 hours to download one of the games, and 18 for the other, sh*t the 2 crappy documentaries that came with them both I guess is going to take about 7.5 hours to DL apparently.

Why are the 2 games not on 1 disc, was this to save on packaging costs? Cos' the GOW: Origins came out on a disc as well as the collection, before they stuffed it all into the Saga pack?

The documentary is worth watching because one of the programmers is wearing an unusual hat!

Game is a bit crap though from the 5 minutes I played of it? Bash buttons a lot? Looks nice though.
  • edited December 2013
Depends which game? There's 5 in the pack (Although granted they're all pretty much the same game I'm sure?), well 3 discs and 2 downloads, funnily enough the 2 non physical copies are the only 2 I've never played, but I thought I'd be getting 3 discs, not 2 discs and 2 downloads.

    That annoys me....a lot!

God of War 3 documentary about the camera system. One of the programmers is wearing a hat which looks like a sailors hat. Programmers are cool and edgy.

Yep and not only did I have to leave me PS3 on after I went to bed and switch it off before I left for work last night I now have to install them as well, so I still haven't played them yet. So it's probably been about 15 hours now, so well done Phony you've managed to completely con and piss off another one of your customers

    Bravo you complete f**kwits!

Played and finished Gears of War: Judgment over 3 days. Disappointing that it's so short. Even with the Aftermath bonus it's still finishable on normal first time through in less than 10 hours. Glad I didn't pay full price for it!

I'm not too fond of the star scoring that's replaced the Arcade style scoring in 3, but I do like the Declassified modifier. Some of them are a right pain on normal, not looking forward to them on Hardcore or Insane!!

Decided to go back to Gears 1 and get the last 8 cogs I missed. Annoyingly there's no way to find out which levels I'm missing them on so I've to play through the whole thing again which isn't too bad I suppose as it's a good game.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.
