I have the feeling that this Spanish text adventure:

is actually the translation of a English one, but I dont seem to be able to find it in the archive, and helping hand??

Thanks!

The game ends with this message (translated into Googlish):
Using all your qualities has fought with passion and courage. The inhabitants of Ghythrad you will always have in their hearts.
The name "Ghythrad" doesn't google, which would indicate that the game doesn't appear as a review on any of the UK magazine sites.

However, the game does include a "Hartnelli grande" monster, and Tim Hartnell wrote a text adventure "Revenge of Castle Dread" which has a similar presentation, but without the pictures. Given those facts, plus the version of "Revenge ..." on WoS being in Spanish, it would suggest there is a connection between that and "Castillo Maldito", although they're different games. "Revenge ..." has a "Castillo Encantado" (Enchanted Castle) rather than a "Castillo Maldito" (Cursed Castle).

I've compared the two games, and I'd say one is inspired by the other.

There are some very similar code in there (but not completely copied), and enough to say that he must have read the book.

But also enough difference in there to say that it's about 50% original work in there.

Also, the Hartnell version doesn't run, so 'inspired' or 'clone' (not sure) would probably be correct. But it could also be a sequel.

There's an error in the setup of M$() in "Revenge ...". It uses STR$(INT(RND*5)) in the setup loop, which means that "0" is a possible value. Then at 9440 it uses VAL(M$(A,1)) to select from B$(), which will give "Subscript wrong" if M$() holds a "0" value.

Thanks for checking, guys! I see that in this case I was wrong, and the game is not a complete clone of another one ;)
