I can't believe that nobody has done a "hilarious" post of their screen resolution yet! So here goes:

    1920 x 1080 x 2!

If you're that upset Karingal, then I'll step aside...the job is yours.

    You can compare ban-hammers! :D

Yeah! Couldn't agree more... that guy really pushes it too far. He's jut relying on the vague goodwill of the mods not to get a ban if you ask me. There's no need for it.

No, he wants a British one clearly, hence posting a photo of the HMS Resolution...

I've decided to take a break from the adult website i let myself get sucked into 5 years ago*, and work on an idea i have regarding a new (hopefully) concept in Extended BASIC, which, if i can pull it off, should result in a modular kind of thing where the end user can tailor his/her own Extended setup, even have different configurations for different purposes, e.g. one setup for games, another for business type apps, and whatnot.

Since i only own a couple of +3's and a +2A(B actually), it will be geared towards these machines, but once i have a working framework, i intend to release the source code for anyone here to play with. :)

*It's been a rather expensive experience, but on the upside i've gained a lot of online friends which i could never have had in any other way, so there's that.

    Happy New Year folks!

Well, I was going to say "eat healthier" or something but I'm officially changing it to "get off the planet before WIWC destroys it".

Eh? Isn't there enough free land there for a completely detached house at least? :p

Reminds me of a pal who lives a few miles out in the countryside outside Bath. I used to drive into the middle of nowhere through deserted roads and past nothing but fields and woods to get to his home, to find three houses next to each other and him complaining about the noise the neighbour makes through the adjoining wall..

One of the Sea Forts off the coast at Portsmouth sold a decade or so ago for a mere ?10M. It has it's own underwater (obviously) sub pen. And there were some Ocelot class subs rusting away onshore. They still looked pretty complete from a distance and I never saw them close up. Didn't see them last time I was there though so hopefully at least one of them is in a museum by now.

My actual resolutions are to keep up my fitness regime, be more decisive and to stop procrastina- I'm sorry, I'm getting a bit out of breath typing this so I'm not sure I should continue. I'll come back and finish it later.

I always make mine with a built in time limit. That way if I were about to fail, say 4 months in, but had set a 6 month limit I'd probably push to make 6 months and so do better than just failing :)

    Mine are :-
    1. No more World of Warcraft in 2014 (Hopefully I'll set the same goal for 2015 and on until I no longer think about it).

    2. Get weight below 70Kg (I'm a bit short so that's not an anorexic goal)

    3. Maintain weight at target for the rest of the year

    4. Complete Finders Keepers+

    5. Seriously declutter

    6. Organise my life better

On the subject of decluttering, does anybody want a Pianola? It's big and heavy and needs repair/refurbishment. but it's a retro project :). It's just taking up room here so it's free for collection in South Yorkshire. It plays ok as a piano, but the bellows leak too much at the moment for it to play the paper reels.

A bit late, but I'm going to make an extra effort to finally get Bugaboo out of that cave this year.

So three-and-a-bit months in, how are we all doing so far?

Staying off social media, in particular Facebook, and doing something more productive with my life.
Doing my first bit of freelance work.
Writing an original piece of music.

I've managed one of the three so far - deactivated my Arsebook account completely (which is why it looks like I've de-friended everyone :-P)
WoSF doesn't count as social media, right?

Freelance work is still on the back burner, but the music thing is sort of getting there. Beepola music counts as music, right?

I have spent far more time than is healthy playing Speccy games and 2048 though :x

I'm fittest I've been for neatly 18 years. Probably more stamina, but I could lift my own weight above my head when iwas 25, and I can't now.

Develop something, no matter how crap and pointless, to iOS and/or Android.
    Completely switch to vaping.

Time to resurrect and see how we got on. I failed miserably on all fronts but for once I couldn't care less. Started karate after a 20 odd year hiatus and I'm fitter than ever. I've bottomed out my weight at just under 13 stone (lost 1 stone) which for a 42 year old 6' 3" bloke is pretty good. Gone down a waist size which I'm delighted about. My goal for 2015 is purely to gain my green, then blue and have an outside shot of gaining my red belt. It's been fantastic doing this with my kids and they love it as much as I do.

I'm glad I didn't comment on this thread. As far as I remememememember, I made no resolutions. I did okay though and finished my main project on time. 2015 will be a different matter. If a thread appears, I'll take the plunge!

That's a great plan. All the very best to you and your flea. :)

Lose weight, quit smoking, finish some of these lingering half-projects and stop spending so much time in front of a bloody screen. Oh, and stop giving a **** about football too. Between smoking and Leicester, that's half my life i've spent chucking money at a lost cause.

I'll count it as a successful year if I manage two of those.

Well I stayed off Facebook for a bit but it didn't last.
Freelance work - did a bit back in September/October. Didn't get paid for all of it though but hey, you live and learn.
Original music - I wrote a couple of original tunes for Ian Munro's Speccy game Shapeshifter :)

This year I want to lose a bit of weight - I'm 6' 2" and seem to have been 15 stone for the last 2 years, will be happy just to go down to 14 stone. I started running again on Boxing Day after 2 or 3 months off, so that's a good start anyway.

Also want to rekindle my relationship with Mrs Spoons, we still love each other but it's kind of fizzled out a bit lately, so let's see what happens :)

Be more motivated in general, I'm way too cabbage like at the moment and spend far to much time sitting around loafing when I'm not at work.

Once again try to quit smoking, cold turkey may be the only option here, which I'm not looking forward to :(

Try to get back into making some Speccy software, I've been away too long or at least it feels like I have :D

I would say drink less beer, but let's face it....That's not gonna happen

Have been slightly more motivated, even though year has been completely f**king sh*t!

Still smoking, although possibly less than this time last year?

Haven't hardly played any Speccy games never mind made any...

...and strangely enough after saying I wouldn't drink less I probably do now

So mostly a fail I'd say
