360 or XB1 judging by the control mappings @ top right.

Aye, 360 version. Looks good enough on that, but the PS4/Xbox 1 versions look even better. Superb work by Ubisoft.

Played up to the final boss in the Castle of Illusion remake on 360...great fun! But that bloody witch is doing my head in! Will try and beat her again later.....

Played through Gears Of War 2 again to remind myself of what happened before tackling Gears Of War 3, which I also just completed on Normal...great games, and I'm now having a go of the multiplayer modes and finding those really enjoyable too!

Got loads of other stuff to work through that I've bought in various sales, so it looks like it'll be a busy start to the year games-playing wise! :)

Fallout: New Vegas on the PC, spent last night exploring and doing a couple of missions, the map seems vast.
I tried to break into a prison to see what was there but got blown away by loads of guys! I think i'll wait till i've got some better weapons before going back there!

Well since I'm riddled with man flu GTA V, GTA: Online, or the God of War games just seemed a bit intense and too much to concentrate on, so I finally got back to playing The Last of US.

....and have ended up pretty much hooked to it all day.

Just got to my first Bloater, may have to turn it off, and play it again when I'm feeling better, he's crushed my head quite a few times now, and my feeble weakened body and mind is finding it very stressful trying to aim at him, even if he is quite a large target :D

The Eradicator was way funnier, I'm scared to watch it again though incase it turns out to be not funny :D

I watched it there was "analysis" afterwards and the "I'm pinching your face" guy wasn't featured :(

EDIT: Nostalgia, nowhere near as good as it used to be

    Just completed The Witcher.

Despite the slightly hammy acting, I enjoyed it. I liked the combat system and use of signs. Played it on medium difficulty which seemed about right for my game-playing patience (i.e. fairly easy!). After putting a lot of talents into fully enhancing the 'igni' sign, it was pretty effective towards the end, there wasn't much I couldn't destroy quite easily with it. Took a few attempts to kill the Koschey (that crab monster thing).

Started playing Enchanted Arms on the Xbox 360. At first glance it looks like a Final Fantasy-esque grindfest, so it should take some time if I try to finish it. The voice acting is hilarious so far, I hope it's meant to be deliberately tongue-in-cheek...

Yeah I already softened him up with a nail bomb, and a Molotov, and let Bill do most of the work with his shotty :D

Funny thing is I dropped him with a pistol shot in the end, quite funny really, I had more trouble fighting the few runners that come in after him

Yeah, I thought that was a bit evil of them. The first time I had about a pixel of HP left so had to do it all again!

I've been playing XCom The Bureau : Declassified, pretty fun and only paid a fiver for it from Get Games last week. Its pretty linear but the combat is tactical enough to take out most mobs by flanking and using skills.

I have also started playing through Interphase on my Atari ST, loved this game back in the day on Amiga but finding it really tough at the minute, just need to get to grips with it again.

Yeah I had a shred of health left and about 3 medkits, but nowhere safe to use one, so I was running round and round the gym hoping Bill would kill them of course I ended up in the corner and he couldn't reach them with his gun. I'm fumbling to get my shotgun out, and manage to lace one of them, then Joel starts reloading as I'm backing off saying to myself the whole time "NO! NO! NO!".

I luckily got reloaded and killed one more of them, and Bill took the last one out.

If there had've been a Clicker in amongst them lot I'd still be trying to do that bit now I think?

I'm in the Hunter City at the min, not that much fun really, you think you've got rid of them and more appear, usually from behind you. The basts have got Molotovs as well as guns, and they've not just got handguns they've got rifles and shotguns as well.

I'm about to start playing it again now, hopefully I can remember what I was doing I was tired and feeling a little fuzzy from the lethal cocktail of cold and flu remedies my wife forced me to take

I know the bit you're at. My first couple of playthroughs (Easy and Normal) I virtually runned, gunned & melee'd it with the odd bit of stealth on the guys up the stairs. On Hard I stealthed the entire thing and it was sooo much more fun - you really have to take your time.

You've got some fantastic bits very shortly BTW!

I stealthed the building with them upstairs, fought with most of the ones on the ground as they kept spotting me after I killed somebody. I'm in the water right now near the bridge, I have no idea if I'm supposed to go in there or not, but I've left Ellie and the pallet hanging and found my way into a building to the left that's flooded and quite big. Seems quiet, but there's a big mushroom pod thing next to one of the doors upstairs, so I'm on alert now :D

I guess I have at least another 2 days off work to finish this off, since I went to the docs this morning and found out I have Pneumonia. So I have loads of pills to take, and I've handed in a sick note at work. My wife says it's the vacation I didn't want :D

I've still not gone back to that game! I left it when I got stuck in a hotel building (I think)
    Spoiler:

You'll be really surprised how often I leave games at points like that and have to relearn how they work at boss fights etc! I really should stop doing that. I've got a couple of games on the go (well, backburner) like that

I already know there's gonna be something bad happening because I got one of those tilt the pad hints, every time you do that you hear clickers.

Cheers, but as long as I keep taking this Promethazine cough syrup they gave me I'm not getting on my feet at all, it completely wrecks you

Can't even walk in a zig zag after taking this stuff, never mind a straight line.

    WARNING: MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS

Bit of an understatement I'd say

Anyway I'm about to start playing The Last of Us again for today, right now I'm pinned down by a sniper, and I think I know who he may be? :D

I've finised a few games over the last year :P

    Batman: Arkham Origins
    Devil May Cry
    Tomb Raider
    Injustice (story mode)
    Bioshock Infinite

Those are the first few that spring to mind. There's a couple more too :P

Seriously though, I kind of get bored with games. Or, and this sounds really daft, I enjoy it so much that I want to prolong the experience by not playing it fir a while! That sounds daft, but that's probably the main reason I stop playing a game. I always fully intend to go back to it, but they always seem to sit on the backburner for a while

Still playing The Last of Us, I was quite wrong about the sniper.

I'm now at the university, right outside the science building, and I have suspicions everything is about to go horribly wrong?

An old Amiga classic; Spindizzy Worlds. A puzzle game I've still yet to complete. I'm also looking forward to the remake which has been delayed for as long as I can remember but there is now an apparent completion/release date of October 2014! Looking forward to that. :)

Been playing XCOM Enemy Within tonight, i'm finding it hard to progress as my whole team keep getting killed by these spider things that turn people into zombies. My guns don't kill them.
Money is also tight and theres lots of weapons i need to build and a lot of research i need to do, income is down because Argentina have left the project:sad:
Still, it's a good game and a good update of the old Amiga version.

got two games for christmas arkham city and cod ghosts

the batman game was pretty good, some great boss battles and rewarding puzzles. bit annoyed with it trying to push the catwoman dlc everytime i started, and even some of the side missions not fully resolving themselves leaving me wonder if they are getting a dlc or sequel treatment. pretty short game too, only took me a couple of days to fully complete the campaign and all the puzzles.

but not as short as cod ghosts which took me one evening. very disapointing campaign. which is a shame as it seems to be an infinity ward game, who did good work with the modern warfare games. might been best to let Treyarch to take over after this as even though the black ops games werent better they did push thing is terms of the setting. it did have a moonraker style level which was pretty cool though.
prolly have a bash on the multiplayer tonight though, which im sure was its selling point.

:-o I was playing for about a week, still only about 30% complete!

Apart from Star Wars: KOTOR, I've been getting back in touch with my retro roots! Lots of NES (TMNT, Double Dragon II,Contra to name but a few), some SNES (Cannon Fodder, SFII Turbo, Axelay etc.), some Speccy (finished Back To Skool for the first time the other night), and the original MSX version of Metal Gear, via disc two of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. Almost finished it last night, but I seem to have come to a dead end due to not being a high enough rank, so I'm now going to have to search every room again for any hostages I might have missed! Great game though, much better than the NES version, and it also has the proper sequel on the disc (previously unreleased outside of Japan), so I'll give that a go too afterwards.

Well finished The Last of Us.

    Man that was intense.

Don't know weither to play it on hard now, or start a new game + on normal, or just play something else?

Did you enjoy the ending - it's very divisive! I thought they nailed it given the emotional attachment and Joel's history. I'm pretty sure Ellie knows he's bull****ting her though. She saw through David immediately after all.

I would recommend jumping straight into Hard as you'll find it a different experience unless you stealth-ed the vast majority of Normal. Plus you get the Normal + trophy anyway when you complete Hard. It is nice to play the + modes though as all your skills and weapon upgrades carry over.
