Internet connection question.

Having some problems with my internet and was wondering if anybody could help.

I changed ISP and got a new router and what not and everything is working fine if i connect via wireless but wired connections are either slower or fail to find the router.

Ive got connected directly to the router a ps3 and wii. The wii connects intermittently and the ps3 connection is slow when playing online.

My laptop is connected via a powerline network adapter and works fine sometimes but other times fails to recognise the network.

    Is it near anything that could interfere witht he signal? I can't put my router near my monitor else I get problems like that.
    Sounds like it could be a faulty router though.

    I hadn't thought of that it is near a few potentially interference generating devices.
