Ahhhhh, but the PSU is not included. It is just the unit. :)

even still, postage isn't cheap.. and the dimensions of it etc.

some ebayers won't ship outside the uk.. so it makes it a bit less common in that sense also
  • edited February 2014
yup, you can send it cheaper abroad because it's under 2kg for just the unit.
I've sold few of these abroad, they usually don't want the PSU.

IS IT ? if you bought off them , go look at ya records.. and if you bought off me, go look at mine. are the names the EXACT same ? (p.s. I don't give you permission to publish my name here either and I'm sure you'd be in breach of the data protection act / liable if you publish the other sellers name, under the ebay rules we all agree to when we sign up.)

pity you didn't bother to take a quick look at their very recent feedback also (I always find that says a lot about a seller etc) ...

    Excellent.thank you very much.

dizzy's excellent adventures prince of yolkfolk spellbound ZX Spectrum Game (#331121258164) ?15.00 View Item

*NOTE* the price they asked for it very recently..

so your "logic" is rather flawed , go on say it's a rip off price.. maybe wonder why it's that cost instead..

I notice how you keep trying to involve me with ebay related stuff.. dunno why, not like you have a proper UK address that you actually live at.. thats covered 100% by paypal protection ? do all the sellers know that ? thought not ;-)

What the hell?!!! A Spectrum+ going for ?600!!!

but condition wise, it was exceptional.. wonder if the membrane works hehe . a museum piece or someone seeing it as a future antique.. it's relative I guess to how much someone is willing to pay.. the bidding history is interesing.. from ?200 , to 500 onward.

I have a machine (eaca 3003) that maybe 5-10? folk have in the UK and it probably goes for ?50.. I even have it boxed with original receipt

stuff is always being listed at inflated prices by that seller.. I have been outbid 10-20 times on machines.. only to see them being re-listed 2 months later at 2-3 times the price they sold.. so yer, real "collector" .. sure make a bit of money.. but when you know how much were paid shortly before.. then you feel , sod it.. keep em.

I must've bid on at least 200 of them, bit out of my price range too I think, but one day we might get lucky.

I bought a spectrum on ebay the other day. It was one of the mail order ones, in original mail order box, with special delivery sticker on it.
Turned up today, and the morons had torn the sticker off, stuck a label on it, cover the box in tape and posted it. Grrrrrr.

What if 3D printing Ace cases professionaly (costs about €40), and put a complete board in.
    Would that suffice?

Not for me, I like to have the original.
One day I'll find one locally maybe. eBay prices are a bit high. Some rich person is stockpiling them I think :)

no,1 person.. they are buying em to re-sell at *3+ the price and continually snipe bidding / have no interest in collecting.. they do it with all the rarer machine.. so I'll never buy off them... if I won the lotto, I'd not even buy of them.. just as point of principle..

the guy in London who had nice rarer machines like acorn atoms etc, I met / visited (if you know ya ebay, you'll know who I'm on about) .. he was telling me how cheap he was getting stuff back in the day.. pity, I'd have liked one of his 4 boxed zx80's.. but he wasn't selling at the time :)

the tosser had covered it in brown vinyl tape...took me ages getting it off. :(

why on earth would you cover a console box with sticky tape?????why????

people have moaned about my packaging in the past ;) dunno why.. I have shares in sellotape :D .. least you know it's near tamper proof.

but if you don't warn / tell the sellers.. then that is partly down to you .. remember a lot of sellers have no emotional connection with collecting machines etc.. that box *IS* just a box to them.

if say I'm selling a job lot of tapes, then the covers aren't mint etc.. so taping em together makes it easier for say 6 of em

Selotape on plastic is OK because it's removable.
I had a tape from ebay once wrapped in plastic, then completely covered in duct tape, it took at least half an hour to get into it.

I get messages sometimes asking me to use what I would consider obvious packaging. I suppose it's better safe than sorry.

I managed to pick most of the tape off the box, but it's furred up a bit.

Look at the price of the other stuff he is selling and look at what was bought...

How much would eBay charge to list ?500 Spectrum?

you got a good deal assuming yours was up to the same standard...

as for cost of listing, depends.. zero insert day / weekend.. free.. but a fee if it sells... rest of the time, a bit.. but depends on pics etc etc

there is a "make an offer button" also.. personally I'd go for a toast rack over a + for the obvious reasons of the membrane.

You'd think anyone interested in spectrum stuff with a collection to sell would frequent this website quite often. I often wonder what they think when they firstly list something on ebay at that price and then read about it in this thread?

I took a look at that seller's other stuff, and saw a really crappy guitar, for which he demands ?150 :o let me tell you; i've been playing guitar for over 40 years, and i wouldn't pay more than ?15 for it, if even that much. So there

they turn up a lot on ebay...

kinda amusing, since my Portuguese co-worker was telling me about the massive amount of pro taping zx spectrum stuff that went back on in the day there... hence why I ask someone about "el jetpaco" :) you seem surprised hehe

and before anyone has a major strop about my listings, certain things have changed , if you list you may have spotted them... which entailed me doing a SILLY amount of re-editing the past week. which sadly couldn't be automated (pity)
