eBay for an old cabinet, or you can download plans to build one yourself.

I went to this place when I built my own arcade joysticks: http://www.arcadeworlduk.com/

I stopped being a regular on the RG forum about 7 or 8 years ago. There seemed to be increasing numbers of individuals who would take the piss out of posts or comments rather than discuss them. Too many folks who liked the sound of their own text and just had to (worthlessly) comment on every single thread. Especially that badger bloke.

You are much better off here!

This guy seems to make some awesome custom machines! Everything from normal, full size cabs, to bartops and table tops. He may be a bit pricey, but if I was going to buy a MAME cab, he'd be the first place I'd go to ;-)

Didn't say I wasn't dealing with it, I said it was tedious. Like your reply.

My reply would really only be tedious if I'd said it to you on several occasions like the Stonkers joke itself, since I've only said it once to you, I'd say it fell into the catergory of slightly irritating :p

Look at the Vigolix for the simplest way to build your own modern fighting-style arcade cabinet with no complex shapes or cuts:

For me it's not the joke itself, more the people who think it's funny.

It isn't funny, that's what makes it funny.

No, this isn't the fast show where the catchphrase gets used in a slightly different amusing situation, this is some person asking for a game identification and then the inevitable person saying "it definitely isn't stonkers". It is cringeworthy. Reminds me of my old man saying "loadsamoney"! About 5 years after people stopped saying it.

Using loadsamoney as a comparison is bad, that was cringeworthy from the start, the Stonkers thing was funny at one time :p

I want a cabinet already built with nothing to do but load on lots of mame stuff. I am not gifted enough nor have time to work on it myself sadly. Just want nice cab that I can play vendetta on. Thinking of 4 player cab too.

Then it's not going to come cheap. Each cabinet is hand-made and takes a lot of time.
I suggest you take the Vigolix design and see if you can get a local handyman or carpenter to quote you for building one, then compare with the cost of a hand-built or flat-packed unit online.

The big question of course is do you go vertical or horizontal.

Oh Christ now I have no idea! I just want to play classics like double dragon, vendetta, d&d.....

That might have meant something with a CRT, but with a standard aspect ratio flatscreen monitor, just get a big one and mount it horizontally; let the vertical games letterbox themselves vertically.
