It'll be very busy there. when I went with the kids it was really busy and ques were massive, also they closed some of the rides :(
Tried picking bits of lego off the sculptures but they're glued on.
We went with some people who lived down the road from us a few years ago.
On leaving they were right behind us in the traffic jam getting out but made that fatal error of letting someone go in front of them. We'd driven back to Dorset by the time they'd eventually got out of the carpark.
I think it took them nearly two hours to get out.
I'd be interested to know how busy it was over easter; I'm guessing crazily.
Just round the corner from me, too. Never been. No kids to pretend I need to take :)
(Also I think I'd shed a tear still for the loss of Windsor Safari park)
Funny how you don't go to things that are minutes away from home.
I've never been to LEGO Land, but I did go to the Safari park once, just before it closed. I remember going down with a one day flu type thing while I was there and really not enjoying my day as I just felt worse the longer the day went on. I woke up fine the next day though :(
I also remember trying to go to the Safari park, but the car kept breaking down and over heating (it happened 3 times in the traffic jam near the entrance) so we gave up and went home! It was years before I finally made it.
LEGO Land is part of my Merlin Annual Pass, so I can get in "free" with free car parking (I have a premium pass) but as I don't drive and it's too far away from me, I'm very unlikely to ever visit the place.
Kids love it for all the LEGO shops and toys everywhere. The rides themselves are pretty tame and fewer in number than other theme parks. And if the kids want stuff bought for them, you are better off buying them the actual LEGO as at least it's at normal prices. All the other theme-park tat is ludicrously over-priced. Like having a photo-licence card printed around the cars and boats costs ?10! Food is a bit steep but there are plenty of picnic spots. And yes, TESCO vouchers are the cheapest as it can be around ?40 for adults, which is ridiculous. The other option to save money - so I've been told - is pre-booking through the likes of lastminute.com.
I've had annual passes for the last few years as you've been able to get vouchers by spending a load in the shop there when they open at Christmas, so I go for a day out with a similarly inclined friend. But the offer wasn't on this time so my last visit for this year was a few weeks ago, just as the pass ran out.
They do put on a good fireworks show; just remember it's usually Halloween weekend, not Guy Fawkes.
I never went to that safari park, but I went to Woburn a long time ago. I gather that's still going? I went to Drayton Manor a few years ago. I was surprised to see the original zoo has been squeezed and loads of rides added for all the brummies to daub graffiti over as they wait in the queues. Worst of all, the fibreglass dinosaurs have been given gaudy re-paints and stuck in a tiny corner, though you have to pay extra for that bit as apparently it's a private collection. And because all the locals are growth-stunted toe-rags, most of the rides actually have a maximum height restriction.
It actually wasn't that busy, I think we queued 15 minutes for 1 ride, everything else was either less or straight in. Couldn't believe it, it was awful last time we went.
Rides are a bit tame, and the Lego is reasonably priced but still cheaper on amazon, they did however have the ?250+ Death star set up and it is massive, the modular building's are a lot smaller than I thought they were.

Windsor's practically central London to northerners and Americans :-P
Hopefully we'll be going there this year, I've been promising the kids for about 3 years but it depends how far my Tesco vouchers stretch :)
We went over budget, but I think that's because we traveled by helicopter.
yes it's the centre of town.. I will be going to around your area in a few weeks, will I need a passport ? :D

Thorpe park was better :)

You will if you go through my village... we still point at cars here (while chewing on blades of grass) :D
