You may think that but you don't see the bigger picture.
We've had a lot of problems in the past with some very well known WoSsers having 2nd (and 3rd) user names and using them to hide behind whilst they verbally abuse other WoSsers.
The only way to completely eradicate this is by having a zero tolerance policy.
We want everyone to enjoy their time here and not be pushed away by trolls.
It may appear harsh but you can blame the guilty WoSsers for that.
I'm afraid it only comes across as 'stamping on peoples fun' for the sake of something to do.
Are you telling me that all secondary (and perhaps third) usernames have been banned? A zero tolerance policy should include all members by very definition.
The sensible solution would be to allow qaopm to exist along with others that have also identified themselves clearly.
I'm sure there should be a host more usernames (best guess 4) showing as banned on the forum due to being used as covert sock puppet accounts, but I dont see this.
Actually I think it's a good policy, given all the mudslinging that we get on here every now and then. There's no real need for anyone to have more than one account.
Maroc and Scottie's "second" accounts are slightly different as we know it's them. It's a shame Maroc's original password can't be recovered though, it shouldn't be that difficult to change but perhaps only Martijn can do this...
I was a mod for years on another forum and there's not many perks of the job (on this particular board I spent most of my time deleting shoe and kitchen spam). Sockpuppet accounts can be fun, but not when they're abused - so best not to give people the chance.

No, I'm telling you we ban all the ones we've detected or noticed. Even a mod has had his 2nd user name banned. We are trying to be fair and consistent.

or the more likely scenario was I forgot I had an account twice, because of small children/alcohol :roll:
If the forum had been like every other forum I've ever joined it wouldn't have let me register three times under the same email address, so I never would've had three accounts :-P
