What made you laugh most in Spectrum games?

edited June 2014 in Games
- In elite, when noticing that collecting a enemy's ejection capsule with the fuel scoop is listed as '1 ton - slaves'.

- In Trapdoor, using the door to hit an object up the bird's behind, so that its eyes expand.

- Shooting the refugees in Zoom.

You've mentioned some good ones there.

I always found the 'captured and shot' scene in Alcatrazz Harry pretty funny.
In fact, the way he walked about was pretty funny too.

The toilets in Eugene's Lair made me laugh the first time I got to that level on MM.

'We must perform a Quirkafleeg' in JSW.

End of game sequences in JSW and MM.

Cobra was a good laugh, the rubber duck, the prams, the little in-game tunes, the menu screen. The game was crammed with Joffa's wicked humour.

Picking people up in Thanatos and dropping them onto another person on the ground.

The game over scene in Technician Ted and Dynamite Dan.

In one of those spoof adventures like Bored of the Rings, you walk through a forest when all of a sudden you stumble upon an NCP Car Park.

    Made me laugh anyway.

Getting other kids in trouble in Skool Daze/Back To Skool. Never gets old.

Deliberately getting Yammo stuck on ladders in Bruce Lee.

Shooting the stallholder in Rifle Range.

One of your band dying in an orgy in Rockstar Ate My Hamster.

Farting next to the cooker in How To Be A Complete B*st*rd.

There was a game (can't remember title) that had currah microspeech in it and it seemed like every 5 seconds it said "the banshee wails and nothing happens" it was funny because it was so annoying.

Anyone remember the name of the game?

Oh yes. Or making sure the Yammo and Ninja got stuck in a pit together, so they'd start fighting each other.

Put the Ring on in The Hobbit, punch Gandalf when Thorin is in the same location. Gandalf starts beating up Thorin thinking he was the one who punched him.

The really fast 'things' that you can fight in Halls of the things, they just appear and the screen becomes full of lightning bolts fireballs and arrows lol.
The Hobbit when you ask Bard to shoot the dragon and he says 'no',so you can pick him up then ask him and then he shoots the arrow,Twin Kingdom Valley is another one when you enter the hut at the start and there is a gorilla in there (or two) oooer

Getting disintegrated then swept up by a dustpan and brush, before being flushed down the toilet in Specventure.

Lazy Jones when you go in one of the doors and go for piss.

The naked woman hidden in the bushes in Fist II.

    Dropping Boni down the Trapdoor.

Making Eddie Kidd have sex with his motorbike.

typing swears into the highscore table on Forbidden planet, and Star Firebirds, to see what witty comeback would appear.

  • In the Very Big Cave Adventure there's a bull guarding a gully. When he asks you if you're still there and you say "no", he believes you because he's a gully-bull!

Jeez, maybe my memory is playing tricks on me...I even remember the "nothing" part sounding weird "noth"ing rather than "nuthing".

It's been a while though...I don't recall playing black crystal either.

Yes I was going to mention that. Very entertaining. As a 10-year-old I remember being a little bit shocked at the use of the naughty word "F*ck" on one of the pages, even though I said the word myself!

I can only have been about 11 when I got How to be a Complete Bastard on a Your Sinclair Mag7 cover tape.

Most of what you got up to in that certainly appealed to me and my best mate at the time, even though we were crap at playing the actual game (has it ever been completed?).
