I've only got 7 days left on mIRC. I'm sure it used to be free in 1995!

No idea, I first used it in about 1995 on a mate's computer when I was at uni in Bradford. We used to go to the pub, then the disco, then for a curry, and then get on IRC at 3am and talk to a load of American girls :)

edit - in fact it might not have been mIRC I was using, given that it was first released in February 1995. No idea then.

A terminal based IRC client for UNIX systems. Yeah, that's really useful for non-techy types like me and mel who can only just work out how to use get_iplayer! :-P

why anyone use mirc, let alone pay for it, when countless better clients exist baffles me.

    I favour KVIrc myself

cos it works well enough and i know it and cant be arsed to go through billions of other apps to check if theyre better or not
like i said i have used a firefox irc plug in through not having a proper irc client installed but its a very basic way of doing it

Given that there are various Microsoft products that break I gave up trying to use dark themes on windows a long time ago :)

Too much crap uses hard coded black text/icons so I've given up caring at this point.

Psh! I don't like change either. I'm notoriously tight though and also can't abide shareware nag screens :)

Well me neither, I have enough nagging going on in my life without my computer getting in on the act!
