Well that was depressing, just got in from a bar watching that sh*te blew $50 on drink and food...

Could've stayed home and bought a 12 pack of half decent beer, and some oven chips for $14......

Plus side is the bar I was at had Magners, first place I've been to in 8 years here in the US that has Magners.

funny thing is even the Spanish speaking fella's in the bar were routing for England....apart from one of the bar staff who gave me a really filthy look when I cheered for Englands goal, he followed me outside when I went for a snout as well not long after, thought I was gonna have to lay the smackdown?

We can still win it! I'm sure Gerrard will be saying that tomorrow!

Italy was virtually out in 1982, after the first phase of the World Cup.
There was a repechage of a couple of teams in order to have the right number of teams for the knockout stage. Italy was one of them, and went on to win the World Cup, beating Brazil, Germany and whoever.

But now that I told you about it, it won't happen to England. Sorry, my fault.

It's depressing that Rooney has been Mr. Hero now, I'm sure that'll make that fat head of his even fatter....

But of course if his head wasn't so fat that head at the goal might have went in....stupid Shrek! :D

That stupid ogre as you call him is filled of millions, i don't recall he was red-headed. The score's been totally unfair. For yor information the name of the country is Costa Rica the only american country without army.

Here's my recent status I posted on Facebook a little while ago....

I take it by the way my feed has filled up with it that we lost at football AGAIN! Totally disgusting, what with the amount of money that "we" (not me) throw at the sport in this country and the MILLIONS of pounds that these "players" earn each year, I think it's disgraceful that we can't get through the first round! I say slash the "players" wages drastically and only pay them millions if they earn it. Maybe then they'll actually manage to make it past the first round of something for a change! This is just one of the many reasons that I refuse to watch or have anything to do with football....

Those are my thoughts on it all anyway!

I don't know what you're getting at here? But we don't play Costa Rica til' next Tuesday, today we played Uruguay??? :???:

England will never win anything football wise as long as the premier league is how it is...

Let's get rid of Roy Hodgson. Who can we get instead? What about David Moyes??
  • edited June 2014
Well I didn't think we deserved to lose, but when you can call on a magician like Suarez you've always got a chance. Going forward we look fine, but that defence isn't up to the required standard. Baines, Johnson and Jagielka just don't have enough quality and (yes, hindsight is a wonderful thing) we wouldn't have lost either of those matches should Ashley Cole and John Terry have been playing.

I'd probably stick with the same team against Costa Rica. We have a couple of things in our favour (should Italy beat Costa Rica tonight) - Costa Rica have to go for the win and we *should* have enough quality to beat them and comfortably at that. The Italy/Uruguay match is far from being a dead rubber. Uruguay have to win, they can't really risk a draw, and the Italians will want to top the group to ensure an easier route to the semis. I do think that game will be a draw though.

At least you guys didn't lose by 4 against germany and have a squad of mostly injured players...

The annoying thing is we usually play **** and scrape through. We've actually been decent (considering what we've been like at the last two tournaments) and probably should have had some points from both matches. It's the first tournament in ages where we've actually passed the ball to one another!

Crikey, this is strong stuff this footy-bally. I've only watched a few games and already I want to smack down ponitifications like a scouser on crack...

Davey's right - while our leagues care more about screwing money out of the punters rather than the national game, they'll go on throwing money at star players who come back to score against the England team instead of investing in home-grown talent.

And that wasn't a team - a team knows what each other is going to do. That was just a scramble for the goal. Look at Baines who was forever getting throw-ins 3/4 way up the pitch - he hadn't a clue who to throw to; where were the team plays? He was a waste of space anyway if there was anyone near him. Sturridge made more ground with two or three men on at a time. And Gerrard's only notable passes were straight to their goalie. Now look at Costa Rica with their generous crosses and back-passing in the box to better placed players. Ryanair's too good for bringing that shambles home. OK, maybe let Rooney, Hart and Sturridge sit up the front with the legroom, but the rest of them?

How was that for a first go?

sorry booz for the confusion, it was just a bunch of bad jokes about baldness and militarism
the last goal was a lack of concentration, otherwise the tied score had been the fairest thing, taking into account that Uruguay pretended not attacking over nearly eighty minutes. England has a promising team for next competitions with a few young talents

I was actually being deadly serious, not flippant. WC 2010 and Euro 2012 we were incapable of stringing 5 or 6 passes together without giving it away - it was embarrassing how bad we were.

    "Liverpool 2 - England 1"

    and

"Hodgson now faces a difficult choice - aisle or window seat".
