Fruit Machines

edited June 2014 in Chit chat
I don't know if any of you have seen this machine on your travels, but keep an eye out for it in your local boozer - it's one of mine. Actually, it's the first game I've done for this market in the best part of a decade. Apparently it's doing quite well, unlike my previous UK game.

I don't know whether there are any particular tell-tale signs that a WoS reprobate was responsible, although I did use the bouncy letters idea on Coracle.

Just thought it might be of interest.

Does it have a manufacturers code you can enter by hitting the buttons in a certain order, that resets the machine and drops a tenner? If not, not interested ;)

don't play them any more tbh. found a broken donkey kong machine in sunderland that paid out ?60 and then ?30 from two ?1 stakes (it wasn't there the next day, guess they realised it was fooked!) then I wouldn't leave them alone for a couple of years, unsurprisingly not managing to win that amount again

I'm sure my local kebab shop used to have a deal or no deal fruit machine though, guessing it's not this one.

Don't thinK ive ever played a fruit machine. Played those penny push machines though.

Never gone to the pub on my own before which might explain it. Rather spend my money on drinks and chat with my mates.

Wouldn't know what to do, I know you pull the arm, but not sure if there is a special time to press hold.

Never bought a pack of peanuts either.

I've never seen a fruit machine with an arm in a pub? I think they're mainly for Casinos?

Used to be a really easy machine in the bar at the top of the street, me and my mates practically lived off that lol

We'd drop the jackpot at least once a fortnight, we'd split it between us, and buy all the bar staff a drink as well.

The bar's still there, but it's a trendy sh*thole now...

Peanuts are rank, I always take a stash of hazelnuts with me. Great source of vitamin E and are very very tasty.

If you fed a pig nothing but hazelnuts then converted the pig into scratchings! Best of both worlds.

That's an impressive time machine, to be fair. It certainly beats a blue police box for blending into the background. :-)

I hate the new fruit machines. I stopped going to the arcade when they done away with 2p play. Still play them on my computer though thanks to the wonderful world of emulation.

We might need a different name for the packet :-)

We could use the rest of the pig to make some tasty "Head Cheese" as a side line.

the only game my mum used to play on atari 800xl many moons ago.
  • I think one of the pubs I frequent has a Deal or No Deal fruity. Or it might have been replaced by a Karate Quid (groan).

I don't play 'em meself. There's a couple I used to see going into one pub. He would go to one fruity and she would go to the one at the other side of the same pub. They'd spend about an hour shovelling in cash and then leave together without speaking a word in between. Weird.

Quizzers I can understand but I've never got the appeal of fruities. Probably a good thing.
