Didn't see the whole game, but it looked like Mexico were victims of bad luck against The Netherlands. To have a penalty against them that late in the game. Didn't look like a penalty to me on the slo-mo. I'd be well pissed off if I was Mexican. The goals were good though.

    Netherlands 2 - Mexico 1

Another dramatic resolution resolved at last minute.

I like both teams.. so pity for M?xico.. but Van Gaal is the boss. =D

it probably was a trip, but robben definitely went down like klinsman in a bucket of bananaskins. can't believe how Holland came back there in the last 3 mins

There was a non punished penalty at first half. Also to Robben.

Surely referee felt unconfident after that one.
  • How was the ref to know Robben dived? It's not like he's made a career out of it...

Honestly guys, it was definitely a pen, yes Robben made a complete 3 course meal out of it but 100% pen. He should have had one in 1st half as well.
I wanna tell you a story 'bout a woman I know...
  • So should Mexico.
We have one European team through to the quartets. Will there be any more?

Brazil needs to be a champion.
Otherwise, it will be very bad impact on the Brazilian economy, weaken the government and intensify social tensions.

So I prefer that Brazil loses!!!

    Yes, I'd forgotten about Germany.
I'm not convinced France will bear Nigeria and I think Belgium will struggle against USA.

bah why do the germans always do it. Algeria held out amazingly until extra time there

The Argies have been seriously crap in both the matches I've watched them in (Iran was the other). Considering this is supposedly a great Argentina side, and probably the biggest favourite for the tournament before it started, they've been awful. Messi's done nothing apart from his goals, and considering his stature in the game that's not good enough. Doesn't surprise me, I've always said he's (excellent, but) overrated.

Other than a few matches, it's been the less fancied teams that have been the most enjoyable to watch. Costa Rica against Italy and Uruguay, Iran v Argentina, Ghana v Germany, etc. Mostly the big teams have had one really decent-to-great match and been fairly ordinary since. But they're getting the results.

I'm not complaining! It's been the best World Cup ever so far IMO and I haven't got a clue who's going to win it! I'd love to see a final such as Colombia v Belgium, but I suppose Brazil v Argentina wouldn't be a bad alternative.

The yanks are looking pretty good so far...
  • To be fair to Messi, he had 2 players on him all game. That should've given the other players more space to play in but they didn't seem up to doing anything.
