    he was in Grand Prix too.

    okay, it was ****e. but he was in it, and I saw it today, and this from Wiki;
    The actual level of driving ability of the actors varied wildly – Bedford couldn't drive at all and was only ever in the car for close-up shots. Sab?to was very slow and nervous, Montand himself scared very easily early in filming and was often towed rather than driving the car, but Garner was very competent and even took up racing and entering cars as a direct result of his involvement in the film. So impressive were Garner's driving skills that some of the real Formula One drivers, including Graham Hill and Jack Brabham, reportedly told Garner that he could have been a successful Grand Prix driver if he had not gone into acting

    He rode a motorbike in Maverick at least once, I think, it was about 1910 or so wasn't it?

    Rockford Files, used to like that when I was a kid
  • RIP Rockford

    Yeah it was great. Didn't he live in a caravan at the side of a parking lot?

    For some reason, I wanted to be Maverick when I was a kid! I even got my mum to buy me a hat and everything! But now he's been tainted by Mel Gibson...

    R.I.P. Mr Garner :(

    Saw him in Grand Prix (1966) on the weekend. Apparently the real life F1 drivers he worked with on the film reckoned he could have been a successful racing driver if he hadn't been an actor.

    I bought a dvd box set of Rockford files 2nd hand cheap about 5 yrs ago. I can't remember a single thing about it even though I watched almost every episode. all I remember is that every episode was basically the same
  • RIP Mr Garner.

    He'll always be the 'scrounger' in The Great Escape for me. A great bit of buddy acting with Donald Pleasance.
